A preview! Buffed my tailgate

Recommended Posts

My tailgate had these terrible "rub" scratches on it from the dealer, I didn't want to have them fix it because I know they would just cover it up with some wax or something. Also got this nice scratch from the dogs back at my parents last week. Last but not least I drove the truck through a carwash and now it has TERRIBLE swirls all over the place (even the wheels), I was in a rush but now I know better and I'll keep my truck dirty till I can properly wash it...

Talk is boring, here's some pics! I can't wait to finish the whole truck!!

Looks good but what product(s) did you use?

I guess I should've added that lol

Meguiars 205 (green pad) and 105 (orange pad), the 105 might've been overkill but I seriously doubt the 205 would've got those scratches out.

Griots Garage DA

At this point I had only applied Adam's Sealant, NO WAX or glaze yet.

Thanks for the compliments fellas!

Hate you! Looks great. Now how would you go about keeping it that way? Meaning how to prevent the swirl marks from returning?

Proper washing (2 bucket method is what I use) is the most important thing. A nice coat of sealant, wax, and glaze will protect your paint also.
