American Sniper

Luster

Recommended Posts

My wife and I went today.

This is one powerful movie. The true story of Chris Kyle, America's most deadly sniper with 4 tours of duty in Iraq.

Elevated heart rate/blood pressure, sweaty palms, fear, tears. We had it all.

If you are an American who loves your country, don't miss a chance to see this movie.

This is Clint Eastwood's finest hour.

You do realize that Chris Kyle was a liar in several places of his autobiography, which this film is based on. Right? I won't disparage the man given his service to our country, but, I'd recommend folks watch the movie for its fictional "fun" value, not for any lesson in history.

I can't attest to what you're saying, but I will say it was a great movie experience.

I don't care if he lied or not. Like none of the rest of us have! Still an American hero and a great movie.

Yeah, I was able to watch a screener of this at home a few days ago ( no I will not send it to you LOL ) ,But lusters right. I watched it twice, back to back. There is no crappy background music or other mood creating crap. Of course there are liberties taken in every story. There were a few ghost writers that actually wrote the book. How would you tell your life story? Really?

Point is Chris Kyle put BOOT to ASS when required. Think about the stuff he could not put in the book. Im going to Wal Mart after mid nite to get some targets for in the morning. Suddenly in the mood. LOL :M16:

As long as you realize she has an agenda heavy on liberal bias & light on remaining objective. Not knocking liberal, conservative or anything in between. But she has an established view point that is left of center, so this is the exact sort of film her ideology would seek to poke holes in.

Well stated. I don't have the vocabulary to be able to make such statements but I agree 100%.

I wasn't using her as my source of information, but rather as an example. Search for "Chris Kyle liar" on GOOG and you'll see a bunch of hits. Read any of them.

Jesse Ventura has already taken the estate to court due to the lies in Kyle's book and the jury found for him. That wasn't the only lie from Kyle's book that was discovered during this trial.

I can see facts aren't welcome here, so I'm tapping out. Enjoy the movie.

Thanks

I think there's a more important side of the movie, than the story that's told about his life; while interesting, brave, and honorable, take away the "lies statements"....

I hope it helps bring a national awareness of "we, the USA", need to take care of our vets,,,,PTSD, and the disabled. So many families torn apart, after the return of these hero's, and not enough assistance out there for them.

If my post was political, you can remove.

it was directed at anyone specific but I can already see the thread going that way. Just wanted to interject before it went off course
