What did you drive in High School?

I had an 1988 Mustang but only had the 4 cyl engine.

Never owned a Ford, but I still like them and Dodge and other Mopars. Behind the classic muscle Stangs is the Fox bodies.Maybe it's because you seem to see more Fox bodies turned into drag cars lol. I would be one of the people that would put a Chevy engine into the Stang and would be a modern FI one to like an LS3.

I had a 98 GMC jimmy 4x4 sle. I beat that poor thing up all the time. I would follow my buddies jeeps offroad, race other cars/truck whenever I could (the f**ker is fast for what is was), drove up and down the east coast, towed/hual over the rating a lot, basically did the things a teen fresh out of high school did with their first car. I put a 2 chamber muffler on it, airaid quick fit CAI, AAL, cranked bars, 2in body lift, 15x8 with 4.5 BS soft 8's, and 31" tires. It got a hand calculated 21.5 mpg at 70 mph. I loved that little SUV and I wish GM would make a small BOF SUV again.

With most s-series trucks, I was replacing steering links every year, fuel pump quit and the trans quit. The new trans (I say new bc when the original trans quit, the case split so they put a new one in) started slipping in 3rd with only 30k. Traded it for big red in 2010. I see that jimmy every now and then in Richmond VA. Who ever has it beats on it too and looks like it has been wrecked too. I have a pic of it somewhere...

65 Impala 2 door, 396 with a powerglide..my first of 9 65's that i have owned over the years..

I had a 65 Impala SS with the original 396, 4sp, factory AC, Gauges and tach. I purchased it back in 1985 and sold it in 2012. I had the protecto plate from the original dealership in Las Vegas. It was basically a rust free car.

Bet selling that was a hard thing to do! Unless you were just ready to get rid of it. Beautiful either way!

I basically just got to the point that I didn't drive it enough and the new owner has proven to be a great guy and a perfect home for it. I did use the funds to purchase my 2013 Camaro SS/RS. Which does get driven more. I was just scared to take the Impala out for fear of it getting damaged or possibly stolen. After all those years and work put into it. The new owner called me the other day. Took it on a 1500 mile round trip from Va. To Daytona Beach Fl and back. Not a single problem and it got 18mpg the entire trip.

Here is an engine shot.
