Do you have hope for the future?

Is it just me, or is the world headed for a total shit meltdown?

So much crap going on, so much economic uncertainty. One big concern I have is the cost of everything is going up higher and higher, but wages aren't moving. Debt is climbing, income is down, jobs are down, living costs are sky high.

I am only 27, and part of me can't help but wonder if people my age and younger have any chance at all at a good life?

Whats your thoughts?

My consulting for home theater and networking slowed, right now im making $10/hr renovating a duplex. The money is there, you just have to find it. Learn more skills. I went into this duplex not knowing a damn thing about drywall. Other than hating it, i dont think twice about it. The people willing to learn and adapt will prosper

The same feeling was in the air in the seventies, they even had a deal on the news called the misery index. It got better and it will again. Buy a house pay it off, work all you can while your young. I did it starting in the seventies and was married and had three kids by 27. I even made less money than most, starting a business with the family working 7-12s for years. I now have two rent houses and Im debt free all on average pay. I was doing Dave Ramsey before Dave Ramsey.

You can only say that the world is going to shit of you don't have a clue about history. If you think its bad now then you would perhaps like to live 2000 years ago where your town could be pillaged and you be murdered while the women were raped and then taken into slavery?

And don't forget about the awesome plagues that in some cases wiped out the majority of populations across Europe.

Good ol' times...

I hear that from every generation, so that gives me hope that things aren't as bad as you think. But I don't like what's going on in DC, from the White House, Congress, and the Senate. No true representation of what we the (legal) people of the US want. Seems like they pandor and bend over backwards for everyone else. We'll see.

Nobody gets out alive. Might as well buy as many new trucks as you can while you can. I just hope the new STAR WARS movie comes out before the end of the world.

I absolutely have hope for the future. Yes my truck got wrecked, but now I will catch up on bills, pay off a car note, and buy the 2500 "Tow Beast" project truck, that I've been wanting for a while. So with all the "bad", came a whole lot more GREAT!!!

Fear not when, fear not why, fear not much while we're alive; life is for livin, not livin up tight.

I've got plenty of hope for the future, whatever it may hold. I'll greet it with open arms and/or a fully loaded fire arm one lol. I'm 30, my first 2 jobs out of college paid less a year than I owed in student loans. Just have to be persistent and patient, wait for your moment, and seize that thing when the opportunity arises.

The younger generations will have to work harder and smarter. Get a good education where it is going to make the most money for you. Stay away from credit and pay your bills off as you get them. Don't live beyond your means! Save your money so you can retire or cover yourself for a period you are out of work. If you purchase a house, tried to pay it off as quickly as possible. Buy second hand vehicles if you can't purchase new. Look into a retirement advisor at an early age for advise and where to put you money to get the best and maximium results. 401's etc.? Use a lot of care and don't trust everyone until you completely investigate it. Read and fully understand contracts before signing them and how it is going to affect your future costs. Try to stay healthy and take good care of yourself. Be a smart consumer and watch your every day purchases. It is amazing what people spend a day for coffee, smoking items, food, getting their hair or nails done etc.. Quit bad expensive habits. Do more of things yourself instead of paying for it. Do without when it is not necessary. Don't waste money. Find some happy spot where you can enjoy yourself but not costing a lot all the time. This is very hard but it is do-able. You do have to try and set up a plan (vision) very young to move you in the right direction. This plan may change quite a bit over the years due to many things changing in your life. There may be set backs. Start now!!! No one else is going to do this for you. Take charge of your life! Good luck and this should take your mind off the way this country (good or bad) is going and the only thing you could do for yourself and family. Remember you are spending money every day even when you don't get out of bed (rent, mortgage, car payments, insurance, utility bills, cable TV, telephone etc. per month/divide it by per day).

Another approach is to marry rich but just make sure the money last until you die.

I heard a joke the other day saying I could retire today if I die tomorrow.
