Granatelli MAS problems

Recommended Posts

Well just got back from the dealer only to find out that my Granatelli MAS is causing my Service Engine Soon light to come on for a rich mixture.

Anyone else having this problem if they have a Granatelli installed?  The light has been on twice before but after I refueled and then went out in 20 miles of driving on both times. This last time the light didn't go out.

What sucks is I didn't fight with the dealer and he charged me for the download. I should have stuck my ground and said that he didn't do anything. Heck should have gone to Auto Zone, at least they do it for free.  Live and learn.

Now to reset the computer and see if it comes back. If it does then another call to Granatelli is due.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Did you contact Granatelli? They have a FAQ on their site that relates to this sort of question.

Here is a preview.

When do I need cold air tuning?

Cold air inductions significantly increase airflow and can cause tremendous turbulence in the air intake stream.  When using the GMS mass airflow sensor with any type of cold air induction, high flow induction, or high flow air filter, your GMS mass airflow sensor must be calibrated with cold air tuning or a check engine light can occur.  Cold air tuning is designated by a "C" as the last digit in the part number.  Cold air tuning is also available for existing GMS mass airflow sensor owners - please call 805-486-6644 for details

Well the light went out a long time ago and never came back. So as far as I can tell it is fine. No problems at all. Keeping fingers crossed as to it staying this way. I wonder if having the Gran MAS and I get a tuned PCM from Westers if it will make a difference? Hope so!
