How many would be interested...

Recommended Posts

I am trying to talk Pertronix aka JBA headers into making an off road and a high-flow catted y pipe for our trucks that mount to factory manifolds for better exhaust flow, more power and more sound without the need of doing headers. Right now they do not have anything like this but if we generate enough interest here they just may do that.

I have them on my 2013 Camaro from JBA and they're AWESOME!! Here's a ZL-1 with factory rear mufflers factory manifolds and JBA catless midpipes...

WHO WANTS EM BESIDE MYSELF!?!

With out long tube headers there is really no point. And unless you address the intake side with a S/C there is really no reason to mess with the exhaust, except for sound. There is little restriction in exhaust flow. That's why there is more than one cat, and a muffler with a resonator, to keep flow without a lot of restriction.

I figured I would do long tube headers, and no cats.

No emissions needed where I live.

But I would be interested in a little more details. If no increase in power I would not get them.

I like my truck quite. My vette is loud... don't need the truck loud as well.

+1 here. My T/A is loud already, I like my truck with some rumble but I want to be able to leave my house very early in the morning and not bug the neighbors or comfortable enough for my daughter to sleep.

id be game depending on price. sure felt like they added power on my old 10 camaro which had offroad pipes from clear image. it was nice and loud too. unbolted stock cats from the manifolds, bolted the new catless pipes in and threaded in 02 sensors.

always threw a code since i didn't tune it. would most likely get a catted version this time around.

Looking at that, it would probably cost the same or more than long tube headers and it wouldn't take much to make the factory y-pipe work with them, more labor than parts. Just speculation for the most part though. Maybe it would take more work than I'm thinking, but I don't think it would take major work.
