I filled up after work today, $1.96 / Gallon. I can't even remember the last time I paid under $2.00 for a gallon of gas? A lot of years for sure.

Wow. I would love to pay close to $2 a gallon. I live in upstate NY and our gas is around $2.90-$3.10 a gallon. Unfortunately we don't have grocery stores that offer great discounts either. Spend $1000 and you might get $.10 off. Also, our taxes are ridiculous...and our governor...agh don't get me started [emoji16]

Sometimes I forget how luck we are here in the middle of the country. A lot of things are cheap here. Gas, housing, groceries, etc. as compared to east and west coast.

I hate to be a kill joy, I like to see it around 80$ a barrel. Most of my customers work in oil related business. Its cool at 80$ under that long everything stops. Most people would say awwwwww but it stays down too long, Bamma will tax it and when it goes back up the tax will stay.

We have nice weather, beautiful beaches, ect. BUT!! That's one thing that I will never see in Hawaii, $0.18 for 20Gallons, it's $4.17 per gallon. LoL

I use the Hy-Vee gas discounts all the time. There's a maximum of 20 gallons, so I wait until I need to fill up and take a couple of empty cans along to reach the 20 gallons. The only drawback is the stuff you have to buy to get the cents off is usually pretty high-priced, usually not much of a sale.

While I did not fill up for the $0.18 like you, I was able to fill my truck for under $25 for the first time ever! Gas was $1.79 in Liberty last night, and I had $0.57 off from Price Chopper. I remember when it was $100 a tank 3 summers ago...

I hate to say this but the US oil industry better more efficient at producing oil as OPEC has already stated they are not going to slow down. They said this is not an attack on the shale producers but I don't buy into that. I hate to see this but the oil industry has bragged for years at the billions they make in profits each quarter. If those execs really cared about the grunts who make them that money they would figure out a way to keep them working while being more profitable.

Never believe opec, I guarantee it it's an attack on the U.S. oil producers. They like they we depend on them for oil. Of course if we would use our own oil to start with instead of exporting it that would probably help. I also think it is messed up that the government really makes the most profit off a gallon of gas.

& then have the nerve to point their fingers at the evil oil companies profit. There is plenty of fault to go around, though no accepting parties.

 

On topic, the cheapest I have found on premium was $2.27 here in central IL. To clarify, there are some cheaper places, but kind of sketchy & one in particular with a known water issue.
