if it doesn't move that's one thing, not moving and failing to reset when it warms up and leaving the 4x4 control knob disabled and truck left in 4h until i go to a dealer to clear it... is not

atleast give users a reset process to do ourselves in the driveway if they cant program a fix

Ok, I agree with you. Where are you located for -31F? Also, I never noticed that the Chevy Colorado did not have an Auto mode. Is there a reason for that?

its a feature on GMC over the Chev, part of the price premium to give you an "AWD" mode without having to lock into 4x4

Ontario, Canada

Interesting. I'm in Fairbanks, AK and picked up my 2015 GMC Canyon with All Terrain package yesterday. Drove if from Anchorage, AK to Fairbanks, AK in a nasty ice/storm yesterday, the entire time it was in AUTO 4WD. Shut it down in Cantwell, AK to gas up and it didn't give me any problem. I'm guessing the temperature was in my favor, it was 18 to 33 F out yesterday.

This is concerning to me as we have weeks at a time where is it -31 F or worse during the winter (I assume you mean -31 C?). Any idea if this is a problem if you put it in 4WD High? I kept my 2005 Jeep Wrangler in 4WD High all winter for 3 winters now and it did great, this is the first vehicle I've owned with Auto 4WD and I'm still getting used to it.

i think the issue is more if you park it over night in that cold, when its still warm (garage or recently run) i dont think its an issue, both times mine went it was -25 -30 range and sat over night

i was just using auto, havent had conditions bad enough to leave it in 4x4 yet

So far so good on my 2015 Canyon. Lots of pickup around town and getting on the highway (compared to my Tacoma anyway). Wife and three kids and no problems on leg room in the crew cab. I imagine 5 adults would have a complaint there though. Headroom is great, and visibility is very nice, again compared to my 2nd Gen Tacoma. The braking is something I took for granted until the Tacoma taught me how much of a pain it can be--clunky brakes there. On the canyon, braking feels like most cars I have driven. I haven't messed with the auto 4wd... But seeing how others are having problems, I think I'll turn it on for awhile and see if any problems turn up. That looks like an extreme cold issue, nothing to worry about here in Dallas, but still, would rather try it while I am well within warranty coverage. Complaints are small at this point. There is a whistling noise from the hvac. I searched on it and others say it is the cab filter door not closed properly. Think I'll let the dealer fix it when I go in for my first oil change. The direct fuel injection ticking is a bit annoying, but I remember the air intake had a steady tick on my Tacoma, so it's an even trade there I guess. Not enough accessories out there yet! But I suppose they are on their way. Oh, and I'm not crazy about the side view mirrors. The coverage isn't the best or something... Or maybe it is the way the little blind spot mirror on the driver's side is aimed no where near my blind spot. Have already purchased a couple of adjustable blind spot mirrors, just hope I can cover over the factory one without it being too noticeable. Lots of mods planned; leds where appropriate (truck bed and nerf bar lighting--be sure to look for ip68 for excellent waterproofing if you get led strips), line-x, bed cover, subwoofer/amp/equalizer although the Bose is pretty nice. Have used wma, mp3, and m4a audio via usb and can attest they all work fine, album art displays properly. Real soon I'm going to devise a simple, easy way to protect that backup cam from getting wet/dirty! Darn little dirt/water magnet! It'll be my million dollar idea for the year, but I'll give it away to all the good forum folks out there. Overall very pleased with this truck! Wife and kids love it, it's good for us and good for America. :-)
