1/4 mile times

Recommended Posts

Temple Academy Dragway (Little River)

03-15-03 Test-n-Tune night

weight (at track scale) = 6,550 lbs

Best time:

reaction = 0.9194

60 ft = 2.2417

330 ft = 6.4735

1/8 ET = 9.9603

1/8 mph = 71.54

1/4 ET = 15.4175

1/4 mph = 88.42

Temps were about 70 F.  Blower is only making 5 psi boost at redline (5,200 rpms).  Reaction time sucks.  :jester:  I seem to get off the line OK without any wheel spin, but at the 50 ft mark the blower spools up and I start smoking both back tires.    On take off I powerbrake to 2000 rpms (at 2,300 rpms I get wheel spin on take off).  All and all, I was the largest fastest truck of the night (street legal).  :hail:  :nonod:  Somehow managed to wax a late model factory supercharged Grand Am. :nonod:

Wow!  Nice run!  88mph is moving for a 2500 with that slab of armor you have on the front of it!  A 2.24 60' is great too!

I've got a friend with a 98' convertible GT mustang with a 5speed that only runs 15.1's at 91mph in good air.  His car probably weighs half what yours does, and it only runs a hair faster.  :flag:

Alright just got back from Temple track. Made 12 runs pretty much back to back.

I have a 2wd extend cab short bed, 5.3 automatic.

Replaced muffler only with Flowmaster 70 series stock pipes.

UPD intake w/ K&N.

Using a HPP3 for shift adjustments only.

Set up a wet NX system using 100 pills jetted for safety.

Bottle temp pretty low (aprox 60 deg) before first run even.

Best run was number eight..................Against a Corvette

  ME                                              CORVETTE

  Reaction.......1.0556.....................  0.7641

  60 ft............2.2409.....................  2.2445

  330 ft..........6.1009.....................  6.1017

  1/8 ET.........9.2758.....................  9.2895

  1/8 MPH.......77.63.......................  77.39

  1/4 ET.........14.3950....................  14.3219

  1/4 MPH.......93.10.......................  99.00

Some observations............................

I'm sure I was running rich on all runs due to low bottle pressure.  :smash:

I need to install my traction bars, too much tire hop off the line.

Also need some stickier tires.  :D

I need to get a bottle heater/gauge setup.

Once pressure is consistant, go to a dyno to set A/F ratio on 150 jets would be most beneficial.

Some where in all this install a torque converter.

I actually want to be in the thirteens.

White extended cab with black factory flares. Kinda looks like a 4x4 but its just a 2wd with a 3 inch lift.

Funny thing is the day before I was hauling a 16 foot flat bed completely loaded with furniture helping a friend move here from south of Corpus Christi. Over 300 miles each way. Now thats a do everything truck.
