310racing, how are you continuing to like the Diablo tune on e85? Did you notice your engine sounds louder with that tune? Maybe its just me or maybe since I switched from the mpg tune, which didn't do anything for my truck in terms of better mpg. The Diablo tune feels nice so far.

I am satisfied with it for sure.

I did not notice the engine sounding any louder, and I haven't noticed any mpg increase, but I've added exhaust also so my foot has been alittle heavier.

I would suggest to anyone to purchase, but I got a good deal also.

Filled up with E85 today in Alexandria, MN for $0.89 a gallon! E10 was $1.89. There is a Cenex station in town that seems to always have E85 priced a $1.00/gallon less than gas. I can't see how they are making any money selling it for that but I'm not complaining :)

Wow. 1.89 for E85 here in Boise, which is the same price as regular unleaded.

Apart from the economics, politics, and myths, E85 is better in a way that the FFV 5.3l engine is calibrated differently for it. The power and torque both increase substantially as GM has claimed and the engine seems to run with more ignition timing and to react quicker (my assessment); throttle tip-in excluded.

I have a thing against ethanol. I would never buy E85, no it is not better.

Science behind this?

explain.

I know right.

-Burns cleaner

-Is 85% Alcohol and Gas

-15-20% more Consumption (thats why you get less mpg)

-Higher octane ratings allows our Flex Fuel trucks to run more timing. Equals an estimated 25hp/25trq

-Corrosion myth has been proven false on if used on new Flex Fuel vehicles.

Im on my third tank. Just wondering if It would still be a good idea to run a catch can if running exclusively E85? So far Im pretty pleased with the performance. But around town I drive in M5 or M4 so mileage went to hell. But it seems worth it just for the "crispier" feel.

Yes, it would be a good idea to run a catch can. Especially if you are getting oil build up in the intake. It will help keep it from entering your intake system and causing deposits.

Please don't tell me these new 2014/15 trucks have oil in the air intake hose issues. This has been a headache for me with my wife's 08 Acadia. I'll definitely sick with E85 in the truck if it helps with that.

I put the Diablo tune on in the morning and then with the snow yesterday I was in auto 4wd which I think was the louder noise I was hearing. Ahh, I feel a little silly.

Stealing this quote from their website and being from Michigan and feel strongly about supporting farming I think this is pretty cool. "Last year, Carbon Green BioEnergy purchased more than $80 million worth of Michigan corn from 500 farmers all within a two-hour drive of the facility,.

I'm not sure on the new engines if there is oil in the intake like in our 2011 Acadia and my 2013 Camaro. I'm sure if there is you will find posts of it online somewhere. Sad that it occurs more than not.

So do you have catch cans on your two vehicles? I've been meaning to buy one for the Acadia so I dont have to clean the milkshake gunk out every few weeks.
