Giving credit to custom tuner Lew on another forum for mentioning this great news. The Diablosport InTune tuner just added an E85 tune for the EcoTec3.

I'll be updating tonight.

How did it go?

How did it go?

All updated and installed on my truck. But we had some sloppy slick roads this morning so I couldn't really test it out too well. I've been happy with the InTune up to this point. Seems better than the previous version diablo 91+ tune. Throttle response seemed better but I need to put some more miles on it on good roads...

It must be kind of challenging to tune for E-85. Stoich for E-0 is 14.7 and decreases as alcohol increases to 9.7 using actual E-85. But... Class 1 E-85 only has to have a min of 79% ethanol and it goes down to 70% for class 3. Octane numbers drop from as moisture contaminates the system and as the gas percentages increase.

I know Diablosports is based out of Florida so they probably have a fairly consistent ethanol % down there for tuning. I've been reading about 69% with Speedway E85 here in MI. The new tune felt nice today, was able to do a little logging with the Torque app which I haven't looked at yet. Did get one 0-60 run in. 6.9 seems alright for my 2014 Dbl cab z71, 5.3, 3.08, LT285/70R17. Had a lot of tire spin off the line, I think I can do better. Recorded a 7.5 with a little wheel spin using the InTune logging last week.

Do you notice any full throttle upshift issues on your 1-2 when running e-85?

On my truck running gas it doesn't seem bad...nice smooth and precise. On e-85 it feels like a massive pause. When rolling about 30-35 and flooring it I get a dramatic pause and almost feels like the vacuum secondaries on a Q-jet opening up followed by brisk acceleration.

I'm not sure 2002 offered E85 compatibility.

Some FFVs used an optical sensor to determine alcohol content. I'd follow the same procedure as they currently recommend.

I have the sensor. Can you remind me on the procedure please. Thanks
