6.2L and lifts mpgs

What kinda mpgs are you gouys getting with 6.2L and lift?

I cant decided on a 4" lift and 33" - 34" tires or a 2.5" level and 33" tires?

Kinda want a feel for real world numbers. I will do some longer trips in the truck and would like to get better than 15 on The interstate.

There are multiple threads on this. If you are truly concerned about MPG i suggest not lifting/running larger tires on your truck. However, I believe guys have posted numbers that are better than 15 MPG on leveled 6.2l trucks.

FWIW I have a 5.3 3.42 with 2.5 lift and 34's and still get 20-22mpg, but I have also installed a Hypertech to correct for the oversize tires. Good luck with yours.

5.3 w/ 35/12.5/22's (weigh 100lbs a piece wheel and tire) and 6 inch lift and I average about 15.5 mpg. Tuned with exhaust and cold air. Running ethanol tune i get about 11mpg but i can smoke the back tires! ;-)

My buddy has a 2014 6.2 that is leveled on 34's and his mileage dropped "roughly" 2-3 mpg from what his was stock if I remember right.

Where do these numbers come from? I can't get most of these numbers in our stock 15 tahoe.

Are those uncorrected numbers for the oversize tires? Hypertech is your friend.

I get 15 mpg in the city at the absolute best case with a 5.3, 3.08 gears, and 285/45/22s. The wife doesn't drive like Ricky Bobby either.

I was getting 15 with daily driving before any mods. After a 2" level, 33s and removing the front lower deflector I am seeing about 13 (and yes I corrected the ECU for tire size.)

Finally someone speaks the truth. I don't understand how those who claim high mpg after larger tires, level, lift, etc. Bone stock my 5.3 got 18 mpg cruising at 70. I'm around 14-15.5 cruising at 70 now.

I don't understand it either. guess I would need to ride in their truck to witness it. cause I just don't buy it. especially in the winter months

Thats because u drive at 70, and probably have 3.08 gears..18.5mpg for me at 63mph on highway 6.2l , 3.43 gears 35.5" tires 8" lift and tuned correcty for proper mph adjustment. Otherwise stock, engine purrs at 63mph. I really dont care if I got 14mpg, its a 60k for crying out loud lol.
