You have the Gibson dual extreme exhaust dont you? Im pretty sure it was you telling me about it how it doesnt drone too bad

If you want a killer exhaust without a whole lot of expense, so what I did. I had a local shop install a Borla ProXS muffler and pipes. Cost me $450 to do it and it sounds amazing. My buddy spent $1000 on his Magnaflow kit and hates it compared to mine. I don't think any of those kits are worth it anymore if you have a reputable shop that can bend and weld right. They even got my pipes and tips to look identical to Borla kit.

Food for thought! [emoji4]

Well the Gibson currently has a $50 rebate so about 575 with my labor after all said and done for the stainless kit. I can get my local exhaust shop, who is really good, do it custom with a MagnaFlow 18" for 630. I'm sure his work is far superior though, plus I'm supporting local business. I've used him before and his work was far superior to the junk Flowmaster kit I had on my 02

And that price is for the dual out side exit like the Gibson extreme (same exit as the factory exhaust, just on both sides)

AFM off, firm shift, torque management turned off, throttle booster up to 20%. I don't believe it hurts the tranny at firm shift, I wanna try the hard shift see how I like it. The harder the shift, the quicker the shift. My 02 silverado had a performabuilt trans in it and that thing would shift so hard it'd throw your head into the headrest if you didn't have it there already lol

How's she doing with these? I'm about to try it in morning.

Awesome! My fuel mileage is just as good as stock even on 33's. The shifts are much faster, I can notice more power while towing, it's better across the board. The firm shift is perfect for me, the hard shift I feel would be too aggressive for me

Cool; I'm having some weird transmission feels but I think it's because I skipped the TCM and told it to leave it alone. Which I think basically leaves it as is and doesn't do anything for shift pattern unless you select the "firm" or "hard".

See how it runs tomorrow when I reprogram the truck. :)

Got it in.

One thing I notice is some odd vibration at 30mph. It holds the gear it's in so not sure if that's just driveshaft vibration or what.

Do you feel that?

Nope, my truck actually drives smoother now due to no v8 to v4 transition

I did change to the hard shift setting today. Didn't really feel any different than the firm shift honestly, whether it was part throttle or WOT shifts. It did feel like the "throttle boost" took out a little bit more of the lag though, more than likely it's just me though lol

Volant intake installed, makes it sound mean. Next big mod will be an exhaust, probably a few months though. Gotta figure out something cheap to keep me occupied in the mean time, hmmm....

As a side note, I really got it because I needed a new air filter plus I needed an easier way to access a good ground, the tab on the alternator works perfect

Looks good. I've always liked the look of the Volant intakes.

Yeah, really slick looking and really pops under such a boring hood lol. Easy install, 45 mins while drinking beer lol. Didn't see and didn't expect to see any real world performance improvements, just sounds nice when you get into it around 3k rpms

Yea, the intakes make these motors sound mean. Now you need an engine cover.
