That isnt an SS grille. And no that will not fit. There will be a gap between hood and grille because thst is for an 06. The only chrome on an 04 SS is the exhaust tip.

this. They changed the front clip for the last year of this body style. Any 03-05 1/2 ton sivlerado grill is interchangeable with any other. SS/WT/LT etc. But to go to an 06 grill you'd need a hood.

 

you can tell an 06 grill by the open center bar.

 

Another edit: (I know you're not trying to convert to an 06 front end. but for the sake of other readers) you'd also need the paint color trim that goes between headlights and turn signals, and for LT/LTZ and above trim trucks you'd need the upper bumper valence as they are paint color on an 06.

 

all that aside, look for any 03-05 SS grill and you're good.

If it has a split cross bar, it will NOT work

Here, do this.. go to ebay and find the VIN for a factory chevy SS truck.

 

Go to gmpartsdirect.com and email their support and tell them you want the grill like the truck with that VIN.

 

they will reply with a part number and price.

 

If you dont like their price, grab their part # and shop it.
