Picked my 2010 Silverado 5.3L crew cab 3 weeks ago, was lurking the forum since then and decided to join in today. very nice community. I've owned a few Chevy vehicles before, this is my very first chevy pickup truck, I'm a Chevy fan at heart, we looked at the F150, and Dodge RAM 1500, decided on the Chevy because the ride was great, had the least mileage for the year (30k miles when I brought her home), and because I've been tuning Chevy Lsx engines since 2006 with Hptuners, so I feel a lot more comfortable with a Chevy V8, and know more of the aftermarket that goes around for GM V8 powered vehicles.

It was bone stock when I bought it, it's 2WD, LT package, LMG engine, 6l80e trans, trailer/towing HD package but with 3.08's,came with some Pizza cutter tires 245/70/17 mounted on the stock 17x75 Chevy wheels., didn't know anything about gearing for towing, and didn't know the truck came with 3.08's until I got home and started checking the RPO's, now I'm stuck with just 6800lbs of towing capacity:(, but oh well, I can live with that since the travel trailer I'm planning to buy weights 4500lbs.

I want to get a performance suspension with 2.5 Performance Coilovers for the front, aftermarket UCA's, and at lest 2.0 performance shocks for the rear, not looking for a monster lift, 2-3" is fine, have plans to tow my offroad toy to the Desert and have fun with both vehicles.

For the time being, I have installed a RC 2.0 leveling kit to get rid of the stock rake, have replaced the stock wheels with American Outlaw Deputy wheels in 17x9 -10 offset, and the 245/70/17 tires with BFG 285/70/17 tires, installed an Airraid MIT along with a K&N air filter, and a Magnaflow 14619 to replace the factory muffler and open up the V8 sound I wanted, installed an UPR catch can did my own engine and trans tune, wired a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller, and just today finished adding a rear center headrest (custom part), all have came out great so far, and I'm fairly with the truck overall.

The next plan before the suspension is to get rid of the DOD stuff, I still have the LS2 cam I took out of my Goat in 2007, it has like 5k miles only so I'm planning to use that in my truck along with a DOD and VVT delete. Will see how that will work out, currently researching the parts i'll need to have it done.

I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I was browsing through pictures and I came across this.

What kind of running boards are those? I'm in the market and I thought these looked great.

Thanks.
