Can Magnetic Ride Control be retrofitted to our trucks?

I would love to have the ride of the magnetic ride control but was wondering if there would be anyway to retrofit this to our trucks. Guys with the new 2015's with the magnetic ride control......any way you can get the part numbers off of your shocks??? I am sure you need to reprogram the BCM or buy a new 2015 BCM for a truck with magnetic ride control. This is something that I am very interested in......maybe someone who works in a dealer would be able to get part numbers for us who are interested.

For all 4 shocks, all 4 level sensors, and the suspension control module...$2767.35. That is just those parts. The entire chassis harness is different and cannot be purchased, and the odds of making everything work...who knows...and probably not very good.

Unless you have months on end where you cant drive it, endless disposable income, and more free time than a toddler, then it can not be done. Harness is different and is not available for sell. Dealers dont like programming the BCM anymore, there are probably other modules, and the $2700 is just the shocks and sensors.

Guys spend more than that on lifts, rims and tires.....I'm not afraid to spend money although I would like to drive a 2015 with magnetic ride control 1st.

True but lifts, rims and tires are a matter of bolt on, minor modifying and well known how-to's. The system you are talking about is a complete overhaul with possibly of no one knowledgeable about how to do. You would be out of your truck for all the time just to figure out how to do it, then all the time to actual do the change, then if there are any bugs you would have those issues to deal with, and of course the old problem of does this void my warranty? Way too many what if's for a truck you plan to have as your daily driver for my taste. However as you said, your money, truck and time.

I hear what everyone is saying but you are all missing my point....it can be done and who can get the part numbers. I wouldn't trade my truck in just for magnetic ride control. My truck is exactly what I want and the way I wanted it.....just looking to up the ride a little, that's all.

I know it's personal preference. But I'm thinking the magnetic ride control might not be felt as much on a truck as it would a car. I could be wrong, but I feel that a car (especially performance based) being lower and having stiffer suspension would benefit a lot more from magnetic ride than a truck which has softer and more suspension travel (so it can handle bumps better). Too be honest, it's not a matter of being able to do it, it's if the cost and time would be worth it. Maybe I need to try out a new '15 with the magnetic ride control, but my '14 rides like a dream and has since day 1. Hell even my old 98 Z71 seemed to handle curves better than cars with a stiffer suspension. Now if you got a 2wd and were going to turn it into more of a sport truck then the magnetic ride control might be worth it, but a 4x4 I'm not so sure. So again, a truck having more travel and softer suspension I honestly don't think you'd feel the magnetic ride control as much. Again some of this is just more of an educated guess, I could be completely wrong lol.

Kudos for your determination, but you're going to need to tear apart at least a third of your truck to do it in an OEM fashion, if you even can post-assembly. And good luck finding someone who'll get it all done properly...

I'm all about trying to retrofit features to vehicles that didn't originally have them, but there are certain features that just can't really be added once the truck is off the line. Sadly, this is one of those occasions.

I guess the best thing to do is not try out anything new because you may want it and that will cost you additional money to upgrade or buy new. This way you don't know what you are missing and most likely go your merry way by just using what you got. There is always a new vehicle purchase in the way future where you can upgrade when you need to trade it in. Something new is always coming out and just stay focus (consider what is reasonable Vs unreasonable) and enjoy your new truck on any decision you make.
