Spray-on bed liner

Recommended Posts

the dealer i got my truck from sends the truck out to get the spray in liners done. i know they use 2 different shops depending on how busy they are.

getting mine done added a couple extra days to waiting to take ownership, in the end it wasnt a big deal and im glad i got the spray in done, mine actually came with one of the plastic drop in liners and i told them to pull it out, i was credited the money for it and they just popped it in another truck.

i think mine is Line-X...it may be Rhino, either way it looks good.

I've had Line-X in my 2011 and in my 2003. Excellent quality. The factory offering looks good too though and you get a bow tie or GMC logo on the front of the bed I think so that's cool.

Line-X will do that too. They'll charge extra of course, but will do it.

Line-X is lifetime, but I read the factory liner is only 3/36 like the bumper to bumper.

Line-X will remove the screws and access panel. They will spray the panel separately and install after dry. You will need to determine whether you want your upper tie downs installed prior to spraying the liner or after.

I just had them spray over the plugs for the upper tie downs for a cleaner look. They can be cut out and tie downs installed after if you wish. I just use the 4 permanent lower tie downs for securing loads as they are much stronger. The upper tie downs only have a 250# load rating.

Real happy with the Line-X Platinum Premium Liner, and guaranteed not to fade like some if the standard liners. Not sure, but I winld imagine the factory liner is the standard?

They have multpile options - the spray in liner, a dealer installed liner, a rug style liner and a rubber mat.

All are optional.

CGN Bed Liner, Spray-on, Pickup box bed liner with GMC logo consisting of high pressure, chemically bonded, sprayed-on polyurea & polyurethane liner formulation. Liner is permanently bonded to the truck bed providing a water tight seal. The textured, non-skid surface is black in color and robotically applied to yield consistent 90 mil floor and tailgate thickness along with 50 mil box sidewall thickness. Spray-on liner covers entire bed interior surface below side rails, including tailgate, front box top rail, gage hole plugs and lower tie down loops.

VZX LPO, Bed liner, (dealer-installed)

VBN LPO, Bed rug, (dealer-installed)

VBR LPO, Rubber bed mat, (dealer-installed)

I had the shop remove the plugs and spray the entire bed. Next I had them reinstall the plugs to close up the holes. Tight fit but this way the entire bed is sprayed.

My shop volunteered to do so before I could even ask, along with the tailgate access panel screws. Seems to be their default process on K2s, along with temporarily removing the OEM bed lights. Impressed with their work and impressed with the finished product, but if I could have snagged one off the lot with the OEM bedliner, it would have saved me $200. Oh well.

My dealership did mine as their's is in house, the Xtreme Ultimate liner's and its incredible. They use the xtreme side of the ultimate lining company for only industrial applications, having that in my truck that is used on dump trucks and haulers, tractors...yes please. Attached is the link, seriously look at it. I was going to do line x but opted out, got it thrown in my deal for free.

Curious if anyone out there has tried "Raptor Liner" ? I have 2 trucks I'd like to do, and taking both in would be a big chunk of change to spend. I wouldn't mind an afternoon of labor, and $200 in product to do 2 trucks myself.

Finally got the liner done, I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Sweet. Never occurred to me to repurpose the tailgate billboard emblem in such a manner. Dang I wish I had done this now!

Back to the topic though, LineX all the way. Talk to dealer, they will do you right, don't listen to the 1,000,000 : 1 horror stories, there's always a chance something could go wrong. You run a much greater risk of totaling the truck on the way home from the dealership than having them scratch or otherwise mess up your truck spraying the liner on.

My shop pulled the access panel and screws, bed lighting and tie downs by default. Which is what I wanted, so I didn't make any changes (though they were MORE than willing to do whatever I wanted). Dude was total OCD, it's PERFECT. I put the plastic plugs back in. He asked if I was going to, in which case he didn't get it overly thick around the openings which is easy to do. It's plenty, plenty covered, but the plugs went back in rather snug. Did go in though.
