Thoughts on the corvette servo.

Recommended Posts

So I installed the corvette servo into my trans about 2 months ago or so. I figure it's time for a review. So far I have really been impressed. At first I almost thought something was wrong because the 1-2 shift felt like it was going to snap my u-joints. Gradually the shifts calmed down to a more quick, snappy shifts, especially under heavy throttle. Now it does get a little clunky in the driveline if you let off the gas and hit it again...typically GM slop in the driveline. However, that's rare so I'm not worried about that.

I got a chance to tow with it the other day, nothing serious but enough to warrant tow/haul. The truck loved it, put a big smile on my face too. I know the servo didn't change anything power wise, but it just pulls so much stronger than prior to the install. My truck had over 130k miles so I was initially a little hesitant about putting it but after I read a bunch of threads here and other sites I felt much more confident that I won't blow anything up.

So in the end, if you have the 4L60e trans and are even remotely thinking about the corvette servo, I'd say do it. High mileage or otherwise, doesn't seem to matter. Definitely worth the $20 and an hour of your time.
