Hypertech Tune Questions

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of getting a Hypertech tune on my truck. I currently have an aFe cold air intake and exhaust. I'd run E85 (going to start once my tank is empty) with it.

Can anyone tell me their experiences with Hypertech? I've only had a tune on a car that I bought that way. How easy is it to use and reset?

Thanks in advance!!

I have been using them for about six months for the second time, works real well easy to use. I got it mainly to turn off the V4 and take some TM out of the transmission did that fine.

i bought a diablosport intune i1000 this weekend from someone on this forum.

initially i couldn't tell much difference with the stock 93 tune and firm shit tcm tune. i ordered a custom tune from diablew, and it blows the doors of ANY mod you can do for this price. I mean, it's like driving a brand new truck.

i'll never own another vehicle without a custom tune before i do any other modifications or along with other modifications. i went back to the stock tune just to see if i was crazy, and no, the canned tune is nothing compared to the custom.

oh and just to put it into perspective, i put 150 miles city driving saturday to break in the tune because thats what i drive daily. i had 12.5mgp average stock. for the initial 150 miles i had 17mpg average. now, i understand that is based on a lot of variables but i found i could accelerate quicker with less pedal and hold speed easier without having to adjust the pedal a lot, if that makes sense.

this is my third edit now. this thing has no dead spots, and will rip the tires off up to about 40mph. it shifts around 5800-6k rpm, and just blows my mind. i feel like i'm driving a vette compared to my stock truck. fyi i have the 6.2l and HATED it, until this weekend.

Ouch! How much time do you spend driving back and forth to work each day? I feel for you man. I would have to look elsewhere for work I am afraid.

haha no, not one trip. 150 miles was like 8 trips back and forth :) but all i do is city driving, so its what i broke in the tune with.

Our Max Energy is very easy to use and easy to take back to stock before going back to the dealer for service work.

I use it, I was amazed on the TM and how it worked on the transmission when it seemed others where having problems in that area. I got it mainly to turn off the V4 and raise the max speed up a little for passing on Texas roads. The sift points and firmness was a plus. Made my truck come to life.

  • 2 weeks later...

Can everyone that currently has a Hypertech post what they have theirs set to? Thanks!

Max speed? shift points ? Rpm? Max speed 130, Max RPM, Shift points one under max, TM turned back down to 50%. 93 gas tune and I run E85.
