LQ4 6.0 performance build

Looking for a high performance reliable block to start with this is gonna be my first full build and I'm not really sure about where I should look for a short block I've looked around and seen blocks go for anywhere from $1,999 to $3,500 and I'm just not to sure about where to start. I know I'm to some extent "i'm getting what I paid for" but I just would like to know where would a good place to start For a full high perfomance engine build.

Do you want just the block and start from scratch or do you want a full short block. If you go full short block spend the money get something with forged internals
