I was at the dealer in July just looking and when a salesmen started talking to me, I said I was just looking, so he says what do I have, told him 2009 gmc Denali loaded with every cookie from the cookie jar, he said what if I get you a great deal, I said ya, what 15k for my truck and 50k for a new one, he said give him 15-20 minutes and took my keys and came back and said they will give me $24,500, I about shit myself and said ok, let me look around, 10 minutes later, I said I want this one, 1.5 hrs later I was driving a 2014 silverdo ltz with all the cookies except the dvd player that I don't need, so long story, but I get a new vehicle every 5 years, since I was 17 and im now 48, my 2009 was starting to show signs of rust on the painted bumper and under the doors, I took very good care of it and washed it religiously, so I wont have anything with rust, had payments since 17 and its figured into my budget, only they get larger every 5 years, 1st payment was $109 and now they are $859.

Yeah I think you did ok for yourself getting that amount for a truck with that many miles on it. Regardless of it's age or how well equipped it is 130k is 130k! I know myself not a chance would I spend 24k on a truck with 130,000 miles on the clock, I don't care if the interior was gold wrapped it still would not be worth it so I think you made out on this deal imo.

Only if you finance the entire purchase price

I've financed the entire purchase price on all of my vehicles... never put any major money down ( maybe 1k or 2k ) but i've never been upside down on my vehicles.... I always owe about what they are worth. I paid out of pocket for an extended warranty on this truck just in case
