The FX4 and Raptor styled into a pre-runner look phenomenal. Not so much for 2013 GMs and down. 2014s and up yes. I think it's the wide stance of the Raptor and Silverado that make it look so good with huge tires and large bulging suspension up front.

The GMT800 prerunner is the most common, anywhere.

I respect that truck but personally hate the NNBS pre-runners. They're fugly to me. Love the 2014+ body style with a pre-runner kit.

Like this.

Geez, the guy driving the truck in that video is scared or what? If you are going to do a prerunner at least drive it hard, a stock truck could have done what he did.

I don't doubt it. And get this i actually like the way the GMT 800s look. Hate the GMT 900s, love the K2xx. Maybe my NNBS acronym was off.

Well not to dog my 5100s but if you look at his video those were what he was running, i'm under the impression they're not meant to handle pre-running type things. If they are i need to quit babying my truck lol.

When i think pre-runner i think the trucks listed above like the RogueRacing and trophy trucks. What i would give to have a trophy truck. Just amazing what the suspension these vehicles is capable of withstanding at high speeds. Hell BJ baldwin's is a Colorado based trophy truck isn't it?

There are a lot of things that turn a truck into a "prerunner". A bumper isn't one of them. A prerunner is used to go through the desert or other similar terrain at a high rate of speed. To do that, you need suspension. Most prerunners have this style of bumper because it's light and protective. That 2008 truck in that video is not even close to a prerunner. It's just a truck with an aftermarket bumper and a lift kit. A lift kit doesnt allow you to drive any faster over rough terrain either. The video of the Mint 400 has trophy trucks, not prerunners. BJ's fiberglass body on his trohy truck isn't modeled after any specific truck model. If you want the actual prerunner look, you'll need at minimum a midtravel kit. That will get you started on the same level as the Raptor. The Rogue Racing Silverado is probably the nicest k2xx prerunner style truck I've yet to see.

Here are what actual prerunners look like.

BJ Baldwins Blazer prerunner he uses to prerun the Baja races

Edit: That pic of the Blazer was when one of the previous owners had it. It now has products from BJ's sponsors. More current pic.

And a video of what it can do.

Your definition of pre-runner defines a trophy truck as well as a pre-runner. Sure the term "trophy truck" is associated with it's on designation but it most certainly is a pre-runner. ;) I agree that 2008 silverado in the video isn't a pre-runner. Looks like a body lift with bilsteins, which it turn you can see all the body roll and bounciness over every bump he hits.

I like that first pic who's is that? BJ's 79 blazer is awesome as well.

I see what you are saying. But when you start to participate in the desert racing scene and are around these types of vehicles, you start to understand the differences of prerunners and race trucks. They are the same, but yet they are different.

The black silverado belongs to an offshore oilrig welder. He goes by @dunewhore on instagram. The attention to detail on that truck exceeds that of a space shuttle. https://instagram.com/dunewhore/

BJ's trophy truck is a one off to my knowledge. Not based off anything. I believe the prerunner '79 isn't even his primary prerunner.

BJ had a silverado prerunner before the Blazer. It was up for sale a little over a year ago I think. He used it to prerun the San Felipe 250 last year and that was the last I've seen of it. Now that I think about it, I haven't even seen the Trophy Diesel (Ram heavy duty with Carly Suspension) in a while either.
