Lol, when it happens it's a big deal across the country...in the states shootings are going on all over the place simultaneously. You can't even compare, violence in the states is absolutely insane compared to here. Let me ask you this?

Can you leave ur truck running when you go into the store to get groceries? You leave your house unlocked 24/7? If you lost your wallet with money in it would you get it back with the cash?

You can't wen compare lol, google whatever the hell you want. Canada is a MUCH safer place to live, that is a fact.

When you have 3 million fewer people in your entire country than just California, of course there is going to be less crime.

Exactly...my point stands. Don't have to worry about "making sure you don't move too fast in front of police, or asking to open glove box" all this fear of what you should and shouldn't do in front of cops doesn't exist here.

I don't worry about those things. I would think most people don't or shouldn't worry about those things. 1 news story pops up with a bad shoot, and this is the reaction people have. More than 95% of police shootings are justified.

That motorist just won the lottery at the taxpayers expense. He will end up with a bundle of settlement.

Why the heck stop somebody for a seatbelt. Nothing better to do?

He will get paid for sure.

Maybe you don't know this, but police get paid to enforce laws. Even the ones you don't agree with. Maybe if this trooper had something better to do, he would still be alive.

Fishing expedition. They stop people for small crap like the seatbelt or a burnt out lights to get someone who is carrying drugs or whatever.

Canada is a nice country for sure. There are two reasons for less crime, less people as stated, the big one is for 3/4 of the year is if you go outside for more than ten minutes you are frozen. Hard to pull the trigger with mittens on, hard to run with three layers of carharts on.

The point is that this cop over reacted, in the middle of the day, at a convenient store, by firing 3 unwarranted shots at a guy that was complying with his demands. He thought this was going to be his moment to be a hero or something. Running around like a crazed maniac. Apparently this cop didn't spend anytime at the firing range because his marksmanship abilities are horrible.

I go up to Quebec every year for pretty much the entire winter for snowmobiling. Theft of snowmobiles, trailers and trucks is so rampant that more than 70% of the snowmobilers in the northeast won't even dare go there for fear of losing their stuff. Don't get me wrong. The people in Quebec are awesome, I love it there, and it is really what I live for year after year, but the theft is ridiculous.

Back on topic. This cop is in big trouble. Totally unjustified to shoot in that situation.

Yes I do know that and I also know that LE has discretion enforcing laws. A little Google work indicates this perpetrator was NOT just a routine no seatbelt stop he was a problem character and had threatened in writing to shoot any LEO that stopped him.

Come on man, did you even watch the video all the way thru. Regardless of your google search this cop is an idiot.

He even told the guy after he shot him that he was stopped for not wearing his seatbelt.
