I generally do my best to avoid being stopped but I too do what most everyone else does. Windows down, hands visible, etc. I know how dangerous and scary the job can be. So I consider that along with the fact that the more comfortable and relaxed I can make the officer, the better it is for us both. Why piss off the guy that can make me write a check? cops have an impossible task. Trying to regulate adult behavior and have people enjoy it just ain't gonna happen in the history of ever. Add in the fact that a lot of people want to push an altercation and sometimes kill you, and you get a stress sandwich daily.

But again this is an example of someone who appears to not be emotionally fit for the job and luckily the dude lived and the trooper is done. And good riddance to Mr. Holder.

This cop is an idiot................

Edit: They gave me a badge and a gun, now my head has enlarged causing me to make stupid decisions and have aggressive behavior towards the people I am suppose to protect & serve.

That motorist just won the lottery at the taxpayers expense. He will end up with a bundle of settlement.

Why the heck stop somebody for a seatbelt. Nothing better to do?

Tax collection. Money for not wearing a belt, and the other taxes he pays. Why else try to enforce self preservation on someone that has none?

I always wear a belt. But, that said, it won't always be the perfect choice.

I went to high school with a guy who would have died if he had been wearing his belt. The seat he was in was crushed right after he was thrown out.

You guys are spot on with what I do if I'm stopped and how I tell those close to me to behave. A wise former officer I used to ride with when I was an auxiliary(volunteer) with another agency also said to treat people how you'd like your family to be treated. There's no reason to be difficult with people upon walking up. I tell our new guys and gals to be clear with people as to what you want them to do, and I always make sure I thank those that ask or tell me before reaching into the glove box or console.

I invite every one to go to google.com , type in Shooting in Canada , and then click the news button at the top.

Lol, when it happens it's a big deal across the country...in the states shootings are going on all over the place simultaneously. You can't even compare, violence in the states is absolutely insane compared to here. Let me ask you this?

Can you leave ur truck running when you go into the store to get groceries? You leave your house unlocked 24/7? If you lost your wallet with money in it would you get it back with the cash?

You can't wen compare lol, google whatever the hell you want. Canada is a MUCH safer place to live, that is a fact.
