Thanks for the insight, it's good to get some more data points.

I really don't need to lift my truck, it won't add anything, but would detract from MPG's and longevity(maybe). I'd like to get close to leveling it, still want a slight rake. At $400 shipped the Bilsteins are not expensive at all, when compared to other platforms.

I have conflicting thoughts on this, but I think I'd like to raise the back an 1" or so, and the front about 2" to keep a 1" rake(I believe the factory take is around 2"). Bilsteins with a larger rear leaf block would do it and soften up the ride on this beast. Our roads are terrible. Expansion joints are like moguls here.

How high will the bilsteins lift the front?

Installed the LMZ LED headlight bulbs yesterday, and these things kickass when compared to the OEM halogen bulbs.

Everything went together easily and the bulbs were set right around Mike1220's settings I think. I unscrewed the adapters 2 turns out and a but more to make sure the bulb "blade" was vertical, meaning the LEDs point at 3 and 9 o'clock.

Great output from the lights. The fogs weren't nearly as noticeable with these on. Color of light is white, pure white, absolutely no blue.

I drove during a pretty heavy traffic hour in the city and highway, no one flashed me due to my headlights being too bright. I'm extremely happy with there performance and the ease of installation.

EDIT: I didn't take any photos, but I will try to tonight while I'm out.

So it was a bit cold this morning... truck wasn't happy. Steering felt like my old Jeep's steering.

I did take a quick shot of the light out put on my way to work, not a great photo, but it's something.

It's going to be cold for a while. Maybe I'll get mirrors installed, if I can get up to my moms this weekend and use the garage.

The engine builder for my WRX is taking his sweet ass time getting back to me about when I can drop off all my parts, and I'm getting a little bit pissed off.

It was even colder today!

The truck is filthy, but it's supposed to 34* tomorrow(I'm breaking out the shorts, it's a heat wave!), so I'll try and get it cleaned up.

Hoping to get my mirrors installed tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat as you, (just across the St. Clair river) waiting for the warmth today so I can wash my truck, it's been covered in salt for weeks…

Lol! Thanks for noticing my presets. I really only listen to the WRIF and 97.1 The Ticket. Pop is for the fiancée. I haven't listened to 89X in probably a year.

Still need to wash it tonight.

I sprayed all the layers of salt off my truck yesterday. There is now a fresh inch or so of snow on the road to muck things up again. I knew snow was forecast but just couldn't stand it anymore.

I do the same thing. I'll wash it no matter the forecast(except for extreme cold) when it reaches a point.

So... The mirrors are on!

I also did a somewhat shitty comparison of mirror width when mounted on the truck.

OEM Non-Tow Powerfold mirrors stick out about 10.5-11" from the truck.

OEM HD Towing Powerfold mirrors stick out about 14" from the truck.

The mirrors are the only thing clean on the truck. It'll get washed tonight on the way home.

Truck is clean now!

So I didn't mention in the first post about the mirrors, that I still need to hook up the front amber clearance/turn signal lights, and the white rear facing LEDs. The ambers are lit in the picture, because I used my key fob to unlock the truck while it was remote started.

It's quite a bit different driving with these mirrors than the standard mirrors. I didn't realize that the driver mirror does not have auto-dimming like the OE non-tow mirrors, kind of a bummer. The truck feels bigger with mirrors too, maybe it's just me, but it almost felt like a different truck.

I also observed a slight vibration in the mirrors, not bad or really all that noticeable unless you're watching headlights in your mirror at night.

Overall I'm pretty happy with these mirrors. They'll just take some getting used to.

They do take some getting used to. Personally, I use the convex mirror on the bottom the majority of the time. The mirrors really do change the look of the truck! They are one of the more quickly noticed differences between an HD and a LD truck. I talked to a few of my friends about how I wanted to get an HD when it comes time to upgrade and some of them thought I did when I got the mirrors lol. Keep in mind my quick trick to getting the white and amber lights to work. But only if you want something that'll work quick and easy without having to run any wires.

No auto dimming is a bummer. It's the reason why I'm glad for a few things:

1) Auto fold for when some prick comes driving up behind you with their highs on

2) my way too dark windows haha

3) the pods under my rear bumper to return the favor to the prick who drives up behind me with their highs on[emoji106]

#3 generally removes the need for the auto dimming [emoji6]

You're gonna love the mirrors in the long run

I found myself using the convex portion of the mirror as well. I figured out that they move up and down manually, that was handy.

I'm surprised how much they change the look of the truck... It's awesome!

I do need to lift or level it now.
