Congrats on this clean and classy build! I'm glad you haven't gone over the top.

Thanks! I appreciate that.

If I had the money, I`d go this way:

http://camburg.com/all-products/07-11-silverado/fox-chevy-1500-4wd-07-13-factory-2-5-kit/

Since I do not, I guess the RC level will do. I`ll still wait to see how yours turns out first :D haha.

Same here! My WRX is the one that gets the fancy stuff lol.

Nothing good to update, just a few problems...

1. Coolant is getting low, and the smell is getting stronger from front grille area of truck after parking it when hot.

I've read that several Mexican built Sierras had bad radiators and leak from the upper, rear, passenger area of the radiator. I'll have to check this out. When I questioned the dealer last year, their response was, we did a pressure test for 30+ mins and it checked out to be within spec.

2. Front, Passenger, cushion, heat mat quit working.

That needs to be fixed... my fiancée was bummed when it wasn't working and the truck was cold.

3. WeatherTech No-Drill mud flaps have scratched the black wheel well moldings to hell due to dirt and vibration.

I may order new ones and get some Duraflaps to replace the WeatherTechs.

Other than that, it's still running. Weather is starting to warm up a bit so MPGs are on the rise. I had switched back to 87oct for a while, but filled up with E85 again and was shocked by the power gain... Again.

So I looked at the radiator where the leak should be and what do you know...

For reference I took a picture of the driver side

Here's the coolant tank after my hour drive home, so it's hot...

Going to have to take it in for this, along with the non functional seat heater. I also need to find the link to the headlight TSB so I can have that addressed too.

I also found that there is a TSB addressing the rear pinion nut, that could be causing moaning, howling, etc from the rear end... funny that I mentioned those symptoms the last time I took it in.

Shit like this makes me mad.

I doubt I'll ever buy a new vehicle again. At least when I buy used, I couldn't give two shits if something goes wrong because well, it's used.

This is the very first brand new vehicle I've ever purchased and frankly, just the thought of something going wrong with it gives me anxiety! Dealing with service people, them telling me "it's within spec", then me feeling like they just put out a shit product then and they are happy to stand behind it. I know the whole industry is the same, but I think from now on, it's going to be used vehicles.

I told my dealer my truck vibrates when idling like it has a misfire. Well, we checked, no misfire, clearly I'm wrong.

/end rant

I bought mine used with a CPO warranty. What does it cover? I think it covers the dealers ass from actually having to do any real work.

Mine idles the same way... it's within spec lol.

They do put out shit products... the only way it'll change is if everyone quits buying these shitty vehicles. Will that happen, NO! Why? Because most Americans are stupid, unless something brings them trouble they could care less.

If we all quit buying gas on Mondays, you know what would happen to the prices? You think people would get on board with that? Hell No!

Sorry, rant over. I'm just astounded by how dumb this country is and how little anyone cares about honesty, integrity, respect, and quality. It's all about how fast/cheap can it be made, how much profit can I get, and f*ck the customer because they're stupid and will keep buying this shit.

/rant...

Nice build. I'm going to take a look at my rad. I noticed the other day that its sitting about as low as yours is in the picture. I am out of bumper to bumper warranty, but at least radiators are cheap for this truck.

Thanks!

If your truck is a Mexican built truck, I'd definitely take a look at your radiator on the passenger, upper, rear side by the end tank.

Gonna have to check mine out. Never noticed any abnormal heat or smell but still worth checking.

My truck goes in on Monday to have the radiator and seat heater fixed, as well as all normal service. They were quite difficult just scheduling the service. Service guy said they've never seen radiator issues in these trucks... bullsh*t!

I know I'll catch flack for this, but I don't care... I love Subarus! We went and picked up my fiancée's new ride tonight.

The dealer was great to deal with. They did all service that wasn't due for another 10k miles at no cost to us. I've been a loyal Subaru owner for 8 years, and I will continue to be, they have never let me down. I've owned my truck for less than a year, and more than one dealer has given me the shaft.

That's too bad about your gm dealer, mine has been great for servicing me and I didn't even buy from them. Also I think my leak has stopped but I still smell rad fluid in the cab. I'm guessing its the Heater core.

I dropped my truck off this past Monday and picked it up on Friday, all fixed at no cost to me. Dealer covered my rental car for the 4 days and did a pretty good job, although I found that they didn't connect the airbox to the mounting plate. Also found a small trace of coolant in the lower part of the airbox WTF?!

Re-tuned my truck with the 87 performance tune and put on the Airaid CAI... both really wake up the truck.

Got a new app on my phone, Dash Command, to work with my OBD wifi connector. It's nice to see what's going on with the engine and some of the parameters.

I'm having trouble getting some of the diode mods to work, but I'll be getting some more tmrw as RadioShack has the on sale for $0.21/ea, they are normally $1.29/ea. I know I could get them cheaper online, but I'm impatient.

Going to try and get my mirror LEDs working tmrw.

Start my new job next Monday... getting pretty excited about it.
