Hot out...good thing I have...

I have ac but when I get in my truck I drive with windows down always. I'd never use all these fancy things the new trucks come with. Plus I'm not a huge fan of breathing in freon in a small space.

AC isn't exactly fancy. And you don't breathe refrigerant when it's on either.

To each their own but I can't stand all the wind noise so once I'm above 40-45 the windows are up and the AC is on.

I was raised in NJ till 79. No AC in the house, window units in the bedrooms only. None in cars I'm telling you I'm climate controlled big time in south Texas. I don't know how they survived here before ac. You sweat your ass off doing yard work in the AM, after noon you die. My toys have AC too, they break down in the summer, too bad till October.

The tech features like Bluetooth are the easiest to add. And the aftermarket systems are usually better than the factory ones. You can even add remote start from your phone.

I like all the features my pickup has. Heated power fold mirrors, auto AC, auto dimming... It irritates me when I drive vehicles that don't have the features I like.

Remote start is definitely something I want.

The Yukon I drove this past week had cooled seats. That was pretty nice. It also had all the safety nannies with lane departure and collision alert and blind sport monitoring. I can live without all that stuff but it was fun to play with.

^Lmao

There's a guy at work that bought the new Cherokee with the ugly Chinese headlights and everytime he tries to open the thing the alarm goes off. And his lane assist thing freaked out on him before and wouldn't let him take the off ramp on the highway. I laughed hard because he's one of those self proclaimed know it all and he bought a jeep he can't even operate.

Like I said to each their own. I'd never buy another vehicle without a USB port to run music off my phone and bluetooth to deal with all the states that have hands free laws.

What a lot of people are doing is buying mini USB drives, the kind that barely stick out of the port. The 64gb ones are pretty cheap. Load all their music on it and leave it in the port.

I have my iPhone and that has almost 2000 songs on it. It's always with me so it's no issue to plug it in. I've bought enough Apple stuff that I have enough cables to keep one in the truck, one at home and one in my work bag.

HAHA...The guys sounds like a chump! :P I love it when I see that happen to people like him.

I rarely use my a/c either. Only time is when I'm meeting up with a client on a really hot day and I don't want to arrive covered in sweat lol

Going from a 98 Silverado to a 2014 Silverado was a major jump. I don't need all the fancy stuff, but some of it is still nice and makes things much easier. I can't stand leather seats so to me heated and cooled seats aren't needed for cloth seats. As for the remote start, I do drive with the windows down (even on the interstate), but it's nice to have the inside already cooled off a little when it's hot and humid out. Since I just got the truck this past April I haven't had to drive when it's freezing cold, but I know it will be great for warming it up without having to go outside to crank it. I do turn the bluetooth on my phone just so I can use the truck to talk instead of have the phone up to my ear which to me is safer (I'm not much of a talker on the phone anyways so it's usually short calls). That's the only thing I use my phone with my truck though. Also in my old 98 I had a factory headunit for the stereo so to listen to my MP3 player I used a sh*tty FM transmitter. Well with this truck I use XM radio, but I have my songs on an SD card and also keep my old MP3 player in the truck both as a backup. The backup camera is also very helpful, but I don't depend on it and still use my mirrors most of the time.

So I do like some of the stuff, but I still don't need the top of the line LTZs. I sure as hell don't need lane departures and the sensors on the bumpers and stuff like that. All that kind of stuff will make the lazy people even lazier and almost teach people that they don't need to be watching their surroundings.
