Hot out...good thing I have...

Today it was 108 here.

My 09 Silverado has the automatic start option.

So about 5 min before I leave work, I start the engine and when I go out to get in the truck, the A/C is on and cooling the truck down. It would have been burning hot in that truck if I had just jumped in.

Glad to have that option on my truck.

I use it in the winter only when it is below freezing....the heater comes on.

I am going to get spoiled. :driving:

Remote start with the auto climate control is kickass. Usually it doesn't need too much time to cool the cab as you saw but because it takes time for the heat to work in the winter I usually try to time it for 10 minutes or so. Then the cab is nice and toasty. Or if I return from a flight in the cold, I'll use my phone to start the truck from baggage claim and have it comfy when I get to the parking garage.

I have ac but when I get in my truck I drive with windows down always. I'd never use all these fancy things the new trucks come with. Plus I'm not a huge fan of breathing in freon in a small space.

If you are breathing in freon your shit is broken, thats a sealed system

If you don't mind smelling like a gym locker room it's OK to go about without ac in the summer! lol

Sometimes I don't mind not using the ac but definitely not on the way to the office or when I just need to be and feel presentable.

Better living through chemicals.
