If anyone has a set of the standard size power fold, heated, signal etc. mirrors they're looking to get rid of let me know. They need to be off of 2015.5 or newer build diesel but looking to replace my DQS tow mirrors.

im only interested in hooking up the front led lights to my running lights. so i wanted to tap into that wire and maybe the reverse lights.

It's in the very first post.

Yellow wire in the harness is for the cargo lights and orange is for the Amber clearance lights.

The diesel requires the sensor.

I have good news for all the those wanting to have folding mirrors on a stock 2014 LT..installing the correct switch will make folding work.

@AceMI

Dead wrong.in this case.

The GM part #23488411 switch was not keyed correctly (as I mentioned in a previous post) and not the correct switch for this model truck. There is a big difference between the switches in the pinouts.

The switch that was correct was GM part #23154702. Today I installed it and it does work to fold my new DL3 mirrors on my 2014 Silverado LT Double Cab (no power seats or folding mirrors)..

For those who have a Fort Wayne built MY2014 with DL8 mirrors by installing the new DL3 mirrors and the new switch #23154702 the mirrors will be able to fold. This is a pic of my existing correct harness plug and the new switch.

Make sure you have the fold wires in the mirror harness plug which I did in both drivers and passenger harnesses see pins 4 and 18. So if you install DL3 mirrors and the switch mentioned above and you are good. This is my OEM harness number for the drivers door harness(not changed).

If you have an LT truck like mine Keep in mind the puddles and the LED turn signals are likely not wired so they won't work but if you just want fold it will work. If you want these to work you will have to find and install new door harnesses.

I need help guys. I have a 2014 chevy silverado 1500 LT no memory seats. I installed a DL3 mirrors and change both door harness the part no. for the left is 23171548 I installed power fold mirror switch 23154702 and it doesn't work although turn signal does work. What should I do next?

Converting DL8 mirrors to DL3 is not a simple "plug and play" solution. I've spent a month understanding the circuits in my 2016 LT and was finally able to get it to work.

I presume if you installed the DL3 Mirrors, DL3 Harness, and fold switch, you probably have turn signals, puddle lamps, left mirror goes up/down, and no control on the right side, and no power fold right?

That is the end result when using the DL3 Harness. The DL3 harness is wired up such that the mirrors controls are processed through the Seat Memory Switch and K40 Seat Memory Module through the Serial Data Bus # 8. Since us LT Owners do not have Seat Memory, we won't have that functionality.

Here is a thread I made on how I did it. Same situation as you, I used the DL3 Harness and switch. Comes with a cross reference sheet and diagram to explain things in detail. You can see what pins are missing from each harness set.

I think I've concluded that modifying the DL8 would have been easier and less wires to add but since I already hacked up my DL8 harness, I had to make my DL3 harness work. If you reinstall your DL8 Harness, power fold should work and you only need to add the circuits for signal and puddle at that point. BTW - You can buy the wire terminal lead with the pin already crimped.

2016 Silverado LT - DL8 to DL3 Mirror Conversion - FINALLY Complete

Good Luck!

Also, since the DL3 Harness had all the options and pins loaded, I was able to add the Rear View Mirror with auto dimming and wired that up as well.

That'll be a separate thread with a detailed write up once I get a moment. Auto dimming on the driver's mirror is dependent on having the auto dim rear view mirror and circuits.

Hey guys, great thread with lots of information I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 High Country 6.2L early version. I have DL3 mirrors on and would like to change out to tow mirrors (with powerfold). What exactly do I need? Thank you!

Everything that you need is listed in the first page.

On another note, I know that the diesels need to have the DL3's with the temp sensors. But I have a '15 5.3 and have a chance to get some tow mirrors off of a diesel at an awesome deal. Will I have any CEL's or is that only an issue for the diesels? If I have any CEL's is there a way to permanently delete it since Ill know that it's just the unused sensor?

The DL3 mirrors I bought came from a Diesel. The passenger side has a temp sensor in it. Anyone know what it's for and why they are on diesel but not on gas models? I have gas... So...

It's an ambient air temperature for the Exhaust Braking System, have you installed them on your truck yet? If so, have you had and CEL's pop up yet?

If someone needs a DL3 passenger mirror with the temp sensor, I'd be willing to swap with one that doesn't have temp sensor.

If it serves me no purpose of course.
