2014/15+ HD PowerFold OEM Tow Mirrors (The Ones We've Been Waiting

HELP! Somebody that knows how to track a wiring problem, please help. I accidentally applied +12v to pin 3 on the passenger mirror harness. According to the GM Upfittter diagrams, this is for the "Co-Driver Mirror Position Sensor Low Reference" (circuit 3400). It sparked and I obviously blew somthing that has to do with the mirror memory control. I can still adjust the mirrors fine, but the real problem is that I cannot save the settings.... so every time I turn off the car, the mirror self-adjusts to a bad position and I must re-adjust them every single time I get in the truck.

I'll buy a new whatever I need to replace, but the problem is... I don't know what that is.

The good news is, I got the new mirrors installed & they look great.

what method is everyone using to get a wire run into the door for a running light?

I bent a coat hanging in half so I had a smooth leading edge while pushing through the rubber accordian. Once through I pinched a wire in the hanger fold then just pulled back through..very easy.

**IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THESE AND WANT TO SHARE HOW YOU DID IT, PLEASE PM ME WITH YOUR VEHICLE MAKE/MODEL, MIRROR OPTIONS FROM FACTORY, AND WHAT IT TOOK TO MAKE THEM TO WORK AND I WILL UPDATE THE FIRST POST SO FOLKS DON'T HAVE TO DIG FOR A HOW TO**

UPDATE: Had my mirrors installed today. I have a 2015 DenaliHD with the stock smaller style (non-tow) powerfold mirrors. The powerfold works, adjust works, heat works, turn signals work, tilt when in reverse works, and auto-fold with the keyfob works. The amber clearance lights do not stay on. They light up when I unlock my doors, but don't stay on after that. The cargo LEDs do not light up when the cargo lamp is activated. There is currently NO dealer programming to make it work, they will need to be wired in to your liking (please read the thread, there's a few guys that have done it and there is a how to at the bottom of this first post after the pictures)

UPDATE: I have added clarification within this listing on vehicles without powerfold. To reiterate for those who are confused, this has not been done with 14+ vehicles yet. I don't work for GM, so I don't know what it will take, I can only supply the parts for the powerfold switches/harness. In previous models, 07-13, to add powerfold was a reflash of the BCM with the new switch and done. If this causes concern, then do not purchase these mirrors. I won't take a return on the parts because you cannot get them to work by simply plugging them in. I've been very up front about all of this. Some aftermarket wiring might need to be done, it might just require a simple install, or it might need some wiring to get them running. Until someone accomplishes this, we simply do not know.

READ THE WHOLE ENTIRE FIRST POST AS I UPDATE IT FREQUENTLY WITH NEW INFO!!!

HERE THEY ARE! Finally! These are BRAND NEW IN THE BOX untouched!!!

Let me first start by saying if you DO NOT have powerfold already, then these will NOT be plug and play. I don't supply advice on how to make them work, this thread is not for that. If you have the (powerfold) RPO, then these will swap and allow the powerfold to work.

Yes, these are the ones from GM with the following: powerfold, front/rear turn signals, LED backup light, heated, and power adjustable. Chrome backs, textured black finish as pictured. nothing other than what is pictured.

I CAN now get the driver side powerfold switch for $50.00 shipped. This means if you DO NOT have powerfold (but have power mirrors, turn signals, etc), then you pop in the new powerfold switch and you should be good to go! NO FLASHING OR PROGRAMMING OF THE BCM TO GET POWERFOLD!

For those who have asked, I can get the passenger side door switch for $60.00 shipped. This is when your driver side folds but your passenger side wont.

If you need the driver side harness that plugs into the powerfold switch, those are $50.00 shipped as well (currently on backorder, but I get them from time to time).

These will only fit 2014+ 1500 series trucks and 2015+ 2500 series trucks. Anything above and beyond that and you're on your own.

Pricing is as follows: (new pricing effective 1/5/15 due to GMC price increase)

Effective immediately all pricing is $899.95 SHIPPED to the 48 states!! :)

Non-Powerfold tow mirrors with the Amber lenses and cargo LEDs are $749.95 SHIPPED.

To secure your order, I will require payment in full. Once your order is here, they will ship as I receive them from GM. We ship out the orders in the order which they were received AND paid for. I don't give out part numbers. This took me months to find these and several suppliers, dealerships, and reps from GM. Alot of phone calls were made and strings were pulled to get these!

Those of you who know me, know that I am a one-man show. I reply to all emails and texts as soon as I can. I am pretty good about getting back asap. I am not a fly by night guy, so rest assured you will get what you ordered and I will support you the best that I can!! Please understand that by placing your name on the list of buyers, we will ship them as fast as we recieve them from GM. Currently there is a backlog and it has been taking about 2 weeks to get these out, sometimes much sooner, just depends on how many GM sends us. We should be all caught up soon, but the demand for these was immense!

I am getting a vibration / shake in the mirrors, the original mirrors were rock solid when I shut the door zero vibration. However the new mirrors have some vibration when I shut the door and when I am driving I get some mild vibration when driving.

Does anyone know what the torque spec on the mirror bolts should be, I have mine hand tight and I know I could torque them a little further but don't want to do so much that I damage the mirror.

I tightened the hell outta mine as much as I could while still feeling comfortable. Didn't want to strip anything but also didn't want my new mirrors to fall off or come loose.

that sucks, nothing worse than getting all antsy waiting on your parts to arrive, only to find out that the shipping company messed it up! (obviously there are much worse things in the world that can happen it was just an expression).

I'll have another one on the way tomorrow for you.

Talk about GREAT customer service, seems like that is hard to come by now days.

Hey all, just wanted to add this info to the thread incase anyone is looking for a very simple way to wire in these mirrors so that the white lights activate with the cargos and the ambers act as turn signals (as far as I know theres no way to make them into running lights without having to run a wire to the ambers)

Also, I can only guarantee that this will work by this method with a 14' 1500 Sierra (should be the same with a 14' 1500 Silverado). I am not sure on 15'+ 1500 or 2500s. I can't imagine that it would be much different though if at all.

ALL MODIFICATIONS ARE MADE ON THE MIRROR HARNESS, the door harness is left untouched.

So all you will need for this is some wire cutters, 2 quick wire splices, and a diode

You will want to cut the orange wire on the mirror's harness a few inches away from the plug (the farther the better but I don't think you need anymore than 5-6" coming from the plug to keep this easy)

So after you cut the orange wire you will splice it into the Red/Blue wire which is for your turn signals on the mirror side. So now you have the ambers working as turn signals

Next to get the white lights to work as puddle lights you will be able to just splice the yellow wire to the orange wire that is now coming out of the mirror harness plug since that is connected to the puddle lights.

BUT WAIT, you're probably wondering why I originally said that they will work with the cargo lights, not the puddle lights. Well heres where the diode comes into place.

Inspired by the "Cargo lights on with reverse" and "Fogs on with high beams" mods, I decided it'd be worth a shot to make the puddle lights turn on with the cargos.

In the end, your mirror harness will look something like this

**** TIP****

I have had trouble keeping the leads of the diode in the wire socket, I end up sanding it sharp so I can get it in deeper next to the exposed area of the wire. IT ALSO HELPS if you wiggle the wire to the opposite direction it is leaning on to and insert the leads in that side. Wiggle the wire to the other side allows it to push back and keep the leads of the diode in the pressured position to maintain a solid connection.

This is from Morrislee who made his cargo lights turn on with the puddle lights. SO in order to make the puddle lights work the cargo lights, you will have to put the diode in the opposite way from how it is pictured. SO the stripe will be on the same side as the grey plug and not the pink.

I decided that using this picture would be more beneficial to everyone since it is much cleaner. I have 3 diodes in this area so since there is only one in this picture, it is much easier to see what needs to be done.

EDIT:

For those of you on tapatalk I am just now realizing that Morris's picture is not coming up. So here's a link to the post: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/164156-cargo-lights-on-with-reverse-lights/?p=1533886 (Post #64 in the "cargo lights on with reverse lights" thread)

And here's the pictures he posted: (like I said earlier, the diode will need to be reversed. I just want to make sure that anyone who does this remembers to reverse the diode because without doing that, it won't work properly)

Has anyone successfully swapped these new mirrors onto a 2015 (early build) 2500HD LT with DL8 (power adjust, heated, NO powerfold or signal) mirrors? Or in general anyone who made the swap from DL8 mirrors, can you please PM me with details of what exactly was required to make the swap. I know I will need for sure the Mirrors (duh), powerfold mirror switch, but am not sure after that, do I need an additional door harness? Passenger mirror switch? Programming from dealer? Thanks!
