So I have my mirrors installed, just plugged them in, didn't want to go thru all of the wiring. Power fold works and the mirrors adjust fine. The problem I am having is the heated mirrors and the auto dimming do not work, and I did have this option before. Is this something the dealer has to reflash possibly? And also, just to confirm...the dealer CANNOT reflash to make the Amber marker lights work correct? Anyone that can offer help, I'd greatly appreciate it. The dealer is charging $108+tax for a reflash wether it works or not so I want to double check before I piss $115 away.

Thank you in advance

Pretty sure a reflash won't do anything for the ambers.

Mike1220 is right; The wiring harness in your truck is different than the wiring harness in a DQS truck; a reflash won't fix wires that are physically missing. The previous assumptions in this thread suggesting that a reflash might fix this are wrong, and I don't know why the first post hasn't been updated to reflect that; it should be.

The DQS mirrors aren't auto-dimming, which is why that feature doesn't work for you anymore.

As for the heat, how are you determining that they're not heating? Pin 8 (should be a black wire on the mirror harness, and brown/orange on the door harness, middle row, second pin in from the outside of the connector) on the mirror harness is the heating circuit supply voltage. You could check to see if that has voltage to it to verify.

[edited because the format of my original post was mangled]

[edited again to add wire color information.]

Phydiux and Mike, thank you for that confirmation, just wanted to double check. I was using a heat gun that I have for work, the diffrence in temp between the top mirror and the bottom mirror. I'm not sure if there is a temperature that the heat would kick on in the mirrors maybe? I will keep checking with different ambient air temps to see if maybe I get a difference to show they are working. Again, thank you guys for your help, you saved me $110.

If your old mirrors were heated, you will have heated mirrors now. Just wait until the mirrors are frosty and see if the heaters don't work before you worry about it.

Thanks man. I could have sworn that I saw somewhere in the first 10-2/ pages of this threat that they were auto-dimmed and heated. I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. Obviously I was mistaken with the auto dimming though, which is no big loss since my Windows are tinted anyway. Thanks for your input.

I tell you, I really like my mirrors. The viewing area and especially the blind spot mirror are so superior to my old SLT mirrors. I connected my ambers to the LED turn signals so they blink to the front, and we connected the LEDs to the reverse lamps.

You should be able to feel the heat on your hand when held next to the glass.

By heat gun, I take you mean a laser temp gun. It might be the mirrored surface is confusing it, causing a false reading

In post #39 it states the driver mirror is auto dimming.

Yes. I used a laser gun, and your right that's a possibility. And I KNEW I remembered seeing they were auto dimming before I bought them 600+ posts it was hard to remember where I saw it. thank you for pointing out where
