2014/15+ HD PowerFold OEM Tow Mirrors (The Ones We've Been Waiting

Installed today! They look great, but do need some work to get all features to work. I did mine the hard way. I used a reverso switch to power the folding motor. Both mirrors have blue leads that power this function. Give power to one and ground the other and the mirror folds, now reverse the power and ground wires and it will unfold. If you use an after-market switch it must engage both power and ground for each motion.

A little info on my truck. 1500 LT, 8 way adjustable driver seat(no memory switch), power mirrors (no indicators or power fold). Definitely not a plug and play in my application, but I knew it wouldn't be. I spent some time playing with the commonly known wires like the Orange (marker lights) and the yellow (LED lights) and had no luck in getting them to power up. I can only guess they too have corresponding ground wires in the harness that my truck is not provided with on the door side. More troubleshooting to do.

To anyone that pulled wires through the door boot into the cab, never mind the kudos have king sized snickers bar.

Good info... Send me what options you already have and I'll add this info to the first post.

Here you go.

Got it. Ground for marker lights is a black/white stripe wire. Wired it up to the head light power supply line under the dash. LED light need no ground, just hook them up to the grey cargo lamp supply line under the dash as well.

I was able to get the features I really wanted. Power adjust, power fold, marker lights that come on auto with headlights, and the LED spots switch along with the bed LEDS. Maybe on another rainy day I'll hunt down the reverse tilt... good luck to next installs.

Brianstemm... Where is the grey cargo light supply line under the dash exactly?

I will try resistor , but is the left one works fine and the right one doesnt I would think its a wiring issue.

FYI white leds are BRIGHT

Wanted to add this link again incase someone needed it. Made removing panels easy

This is where I found the schematics.

These two links are essential when taking this mod on. What you're looking for is on page 147. Cargo lamp is circuit 18 in the harness. The harness is above the brake pedal. There are a series of color coded harness in a row. If memory serves, it was the second harness from the driver door. Look for a grey wire next to an empty slot followed by another grey wire. The grey wire that is centered in the harness is the one you're looking for.

Got my mirrors today and put them on. I have a 2015 GMC Denali 2500HD Duramax, it was originally equipped with the black tow mirrors and DPN.

I got the switch as well. You do not need the bezel the new switch fits in the old bezel. I didn't need a switch on the passenger side or wire harness. I plugged it all in and instantly had power fold, turn signals and the memory function is working.

Funny thing though when I turn off the truck the mirrors go out of adjustment and both mirror motors run trying to move them for a few seconds then stops. They go back to memory setting when I push 1 or 2 on the settings or use the fob to unlock. Anybody else had this issue?

As everyone else has posted I don't have the LEDs or ambers. They do look nice!

Good info. Thank you for the info. The DPN RPO you already had correct? Just the switch and mirrors and you were good? Thanks again for the update!

PM me and I will give you the part numbers so as not to disrupt SuperchargedSS thread. Yes they work on a 14 because have them on my 14 LTZ. Not all dealers are clueless, mine ordered my mirrors as well as the needed switches.

Did you have to tamper with the wiring harness at all? I've been going through a huge battle with my dealership after I had worked these mirrors into my purchase price for my 2014 LT. I am looking at the DPN's, not the DQS's. Any information you have is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

I did have to tap into wire harness drivers side for ambers to work. I used the dimmer voltage wire for easy option. This makes both sides work. Downside is they will dim if you dim dash inside but that is fine by me. My Ltz had black camper with power heat and turn so those functions were plug and play. The white led I did have to wire individual through doors tied them together and then tapped in cargo light wire on bcm.

I'm assuming the ambers only turn on at night same as the dash by setting it up this way? That's how i'd want mine to work anyway.

My mirrors have shipped! Tuesday arrival. Thursday install.

Question: Do the new mirrors have an actual puddle light like my SLT mirrors do?

No. The new mirrors do not have puddle lights. However, when you first install them, the forward amber lights will light only when you unlock the truck very similar to puddle lights.

Got my mirrors about a week ago. I talked the dealer into giving them to me as part of my deal.

Anyway, They are installed and I rewired the forward marker lights to come on when the headlights are on. I still need to wire the rear facing LED's, but that is on hold for a while. My plan is to run the LED wire from the mirror harness to my own switch. Then I will be able to turn on/off the lights whenever I want.

They are a beautiful mirror.

There is a wire you can tap into on the passenger side fuse box to have the mirror amber lights come on with the roof mounted lights, if you have them. No dimming from that location
