thanks Cranky!

Did you have to pull the headliner down to find it?

Im going to try to locate that wire under the dash lol

edit

*I do have roof markers

The visor, windshield pillar trim and grab handles need to come off, then pull down the weather strip. I then reached up and unbolted the the lamp and pulled up off the roof so I could tap the wire. It sounds worse than it actually was but the ambers work just as they should now.

sweet!

I'll see if I can locate an "easier" spot but if not that will work just fine! sounds not bad, I pulled the a-pillar off but after testing those wires and finding nothing I put it back on.

I didnt want to pull the headliner down so I buttoned it back up!

Really appreciate the response!

Latest update from a 2014 1500 LTZ CC SB 6.2L NHT owner. My truck came with regular black camper mirrors, power adjust, heat, turn signal and NO power fold. Truck also has memory driver seats.

1. New Tow Mirrors mount and plug in to existing harness fine.

2. You will need new Driver power mirror switch unless you already had folding small mirrors stock. Part # 23154705

3. You do NOT need replacement trim bezel for new driver mirror switch.

4. You WILL need passenger window switch due to memory seat. Fits in existing Passenger Trim Bezel. Part # 23129535

5. Once all parts are installed you will get: power fold, heat, remote adjust, turn signals, and ambers will flash when opening and locking truck. Ambers will NOT light with running lights and Cargo will NOT work with cargo switch.

I can't wait to lift my truck. Same day I order a lift kit will be the same day I put in my order for a set of these. But seeing everyone else with them and seeing how good they look is making me want them now.

Hello,

Just got all my mirrors and parts and I have a few questions regarding the LEDs light wiring.

1. Just to confirm , the wire color for the LEDs on the new mirror harness is yellow?

2. Do I have to connect a 1 ohm resistor on each LED wire and then splice into the cargo switch fuse on the passenger side or can I run the the passenger and drivers side LED wires to just one resistor and then connect into the passenger side cargo switch fuse.

3. With the LEDs wire set up running to the cargo switch fuse, can I then run the diode method described earlier in this post which will allow the the cargo lights/LEDs to stay on when the truck is in reverse?

Thank you

Answer to #1 is yes

As for #2..I ran the wire from the passenger mirror to the drivers side and connected the two together, I then connected both to a single 1 ohm resistor and slid the end of the resistor into the BCM along side the diode used for the cargo lamp mod under the drivers side. I included a photo somewhere earlier in this thread. The thing I like about this is it keeps the connections clean and in one location..plus it was easy to do.

I'd like to know this as well.

I used 14 because I had a spool of it, seemed to work fine...was probably overkill given the size the factory uses. I can't give you any technical advice on this though, just telling you what I used.

Thank you CrankyApex.

I took a closer look at your photo. What is the smaller diode used for?

That was for the mod that ties the cargo lamp to the reverse lamps. The nice part with that mod is when you hit the unlock on your key fob it also activates the cargo lamp, LED bed lamps if you have those and the LED's on the new mirrors.

Okay,

So it would appear that I need both diodes. What does the larger diode do and what are the sizes of each diode?

Thanks for your assistance

The larger one is the resistor needed for the LEDS. There were issues with inconsistent operation when the resistor wasn't used. I can't remember who but another person figured this out earlier in this thread. Anyway I believe it was a 1 ohm 10 amp resistor from radio shack. The diode was a 1ohm..both slide into the same spot. Here is a link to the reverse lamp diode mod. http://www.gm-trucks...-Reverse-Lights
