That's great. I will stop by radio shack on the way home and pick one up. I wonder if it will work connected to the cargo fuse? If not I will run to the reverse light fuse

OK, I figured it out and it's an easy fix! I thought it was acting like a voltage issue so I measured my system voltage with the ignition off vs. the engine running--off it was 12.6, running it was 14.7! I then confirmed when hooking the lights direct to the battery with the engine running they were still having a problem so it wasn't purely a BCM issue; I figured the lights themselves may have some sort of built in protection against high voltage.

So I put a 1 ohm resister in the line feeding the lights. Presto! They work perfectly with the engine off or running. I nearly wore out my gearshift testing and both lights worked perfectly 100%.

So that's the fix, tapping into that fuse is fine, just use a resistor. I had the resistor laying around, I think I got it years ago from radio shack when I was building speakers. It's labeled 1 ohm, 10 Watts, and has a white ceramic rectangular heat sink.

I took voltage measurements before placing the resistor in the circuit and saw exactly what you saw and I was on the cargo fuse. The voltage jumps to 14.7 as soon as the truck is started and interestingly is very slow to get back to 12.6 after engine shutdown. Installed the resistor and all works fine. The reverse LED's not only work with the engine on or off, they also work in daylight regardless of the auto headlamps. Love these reverse LED's, going to be really helpful backing my boat in the garage at night. The part number for the resistors at radio shack is 271-0131.

Jon A, did you install a resistor on the amber lights? I checked the voltage and they are at 14.7 with the engine running but seem to work fine, wonder why the difference?

I installed mine yesterday and both mirrors are wired exactly as Bluestreak06 (see above) (also, the orange wire in slot 2 is actually yellow) Anyway....here is my electrical glitch: Everything works perfect except: When you lock the truck with the key fob, then unlock the doors with the fob, the mirror glass on both sides moves into a default position. It won't act up if you lock the doors from the button on the door panel, or unlock the truck with the key. It only screws up when you use the key fob. Anyone have an idea on what could possibly be going on? This happens every time you lock and unlock the doors with the fob.

do you have memory seats / mirrors? if so try switching key fobs. that key fob might be programed for "person #2".

My mirrors arrived Tuesday without the powerfold switch (they are shipped in the folded position) so as excited as am to get them installed I'm looking on the brightside that extra time might allow someone else to figure out the programming. It was mentioned but someone earlier in this chain that they compared the schematics from an early and late 2015 and they appear to be identical, that tells me perhaps they CAN be programmed. Does anyone have any updates on this, been to the dealer etc and received any new info? It has been a lesson in patience staring at these beautiful new mirrors just sitting on my work bench :)

Thanks

CrankyApex

I have a 2015 3500 Denali awaiting the new mirrors. Please post the outcome in installing yours and your find with the wiring.

Thanks

My service department could not get any information on programming mine so I wired them and left the mirror/door harness intact just in case the programming feature is resolved all I will have to do is disconnect at the fuse block and not go back in the door panels. After waiting years for power folding tow mirrors from GM I do not have much faith that they will resolve this programming issue too soon. I think the poster earlier in the thread that is looking into programming would require pulling the BCM and shipping it.

Ok as far as what you can get for your old power mirrors, I sold mine for 350 on eBay. Now for what I did to hook the new ones up was connect the ambers as blinkers like most did earlier in thread and for LEDs ran one wire from passenger door to cargo fuse with the 1 ohm diode mentioned a little earlier. I also have the diode mod done and now the LEDs work great when in reverse and when cargo button is pushed. Thanks to all of you who figured this out love this forum and the help it gives.

I installed my mirrors today, with the power switch. "No harness" That is on back order. Not quite sure how that would come into play? Everything was plug and play from which I received. The mirrors came folded in, So I was a little scared to see if they would work after everything was plugged in. Phewwww, Yes the power fold worked as soon as I pressed the button! Turn signals also worked! So at best at least I have power fold, and new looking Mirrors! I went to my Local dealer today also and asked if they could program my truck so my mirrors would work like on the Newer 15 trucks with them, they said come in Monday at 2:00 and they would reflash the truck. So hopefully Monday everything will work as it should! I have the 2015 Denali 2500, witch came with the camper style led turn signal mirrors. So any one who is on the fence about getting these they Work! I know its a lot of money for mirrors but at least I dont feel robbed of my 2015! lol Here is a couple picks of the new switch.

Are you saying that with the 1 ohm diode you were able to get both LED's working by only connecting the passenger side? I know in an early post it was mentioned that both LED's needed to be wired seperately.

No. They look like much lower power LED's so I'm guessing they aren't as picky. Mine have always worked perfectly. I wanted them to be blinkers, so I sniped their orange wire and tied that into the blinker wire in the harness at each door. They have always worked without problem.

Can the ambers be used as running lights and turn signals together. I'm sure this was already stated , but didnt find it.

I'm sure there's a way, but I don't think anybody has figured it out yet.

Yeah all had to do was run the one wire from passenger door to cargo fuse and both work great

I already ran a wire from the drivers side to the passenger fuse box for the LED's and planned on sending another wire to the passenger mirror and connecting together. Hopefully just hooking up the drivers side and not the passenger side works the same way, it will save the pain of fishing another wire into the passenger door. An early poster was unable to get them both to work off one wire and I'm hoping the 1 ohm resister fixes that. Thanks for the info, you hopefully saved me some extra work.
