2014/15+ HD PowerFold OEM Tow Mirrors (The Ones We've Been Waiting

I was going to wire the LEDs to the reverse circuit, but I am now reconsidering. With the mirrors folded in and with the truck in reverse (backing out of the garage), wouldn't the LED lights be over powering shining directly into the cab? Any advice?

Did you get the harness and switch with them? I got the mirrors but still waiting for harness and new switch. I put mine on but stuck in the closed position lol. Mine were plug and play.

No harness and switch. I thought that was for folks without power folding mirrors. I already had power folding, heated, signal, etc.

Finished my install today. I tried unsuccessfully to find a better place to tap amber and white led's but gave up and went to the fuse panels as others have. My ambers are tied to park lights in the under hood fuse box and the white led's. I went to the cargo light in the passenger side fuse box. One thing interesting is that once I hooked up the driver side amber the passenger side worked with it. The white LED's are coming on upon remote unlock as puddle lights and when I activate the cargo light switch. I did some testing to reverse lighting and was unable to make the reverse work when the truck was running and in reverse. There was some strange intermittent things when running and in reverse so I stayed with the cargo lights. I did have the white led's on when the mirrors were folded in and they were bright in the cab and I was in a lighted garage. Those led's are bright, anxious to see them tonight. Overall I am happy with the mirrors, great view, look great, and power folding!

Guys I'm thinking this must be a programming issue for the remaining lights to work. I have studied the schematics for the , door wiring, door panel harness, and mirrors from an early 15 Denali HD and a late production Denali and the printouts all seem the same regardless of early production. Will try and get mine programmed this week and report back

Yes, the powerfold in and out works with the key fob.

No, GM has not developed power extending mirrors yet.....I wish!

Actually they did on the 2005 and earlier trucks...that, however, was the only nice thing about those tow mirrors.

You mentioned the passenger side amber worked after connecting the drivers side, was that also the case with the LED's? It would be great to run one wire for clearance lamps from the underhood fuse box to the driver mirror and one from the passenger fuse box to the passenger mirror for the LED's. Also, how did you route the wires?

Thanks to you for tracking down the mirrors and being able to get them to us!

No I was hoping the LED's would be the same but they were not, they required a separate supply to each mirror. I do not understand this but I am guessing that it has something to do with the existing wiring harness. I ran the driver side mirror amber light wire through the rubber grommet under the driver side mat to the fuse box under the hood, (had already used that grommet for the power lock tailgate). Used the black plastic wire loom and followed the OEM harness and tie wrapped. I then ran the LED driver side wire over to the passenger side fuse box. Brought the passenger side LED wire out of the door and connected the two at the fuse box and tapped the cargo light. There is plenty of room around that fuse box and behind it to keep it neat. My thought was to have my connections complete in the doors and not have to pull the door panels again. If I need to change these wires I can do it easily, but I am happy with them now. The worst part for me was snaking thru the door hinge accordion conduit. I found a coat hanger to be the easiest thing to use after struggling with the driver side.

Would like to hear from someone with a 2015 sierra 2500,3500 if their wiring is different from the 2014 2500,3500. Also where they ran the wiring to.

Let me check my money tree in the back yard and I'll get right back with ya. I gotta have these but 800 buck! Yikes

I've been thinking of planting another row of those trees myself.

I'm not towing, so I'm not blowing. Besides, those are some big ass aerodynamically ugly boards sticking out in the breeze. Probably worth another -1 mpg at 75mph.

Fedex shows my mirrors are scheduled to arrive this coming Tuesday. I decided to get ahead on the install and pre-wire for the clearance lamps and LED's. I wired the clearance lamp into the drivers side roof marker lamp which was pretty easy and keeps the wires hidden.

The door panel came off easy but I need help/advise on how they go back on, what a pain! I'm dreading taking them off now. The other PITA was fishing the wires through the little accordion boot to get the wires into the door, not fun. Otherwise pretty simple and at least it was sunny and in the low 60's.

Main item on the door panel reinstall is to pull the metal clips from the top of the panel and place back on the door with the window felt. I had a few plastic anchors that stayed in the door that had to be pulled and placed back on the panel but other than that they went back on well. You can drop me a pm if you need some assistance.

You can do the diode mod to hook the cargo lights to the reverse lights. I did that and the cargos activate at night when you unlock the truck or when you are in reverse.

I did this mod and it works fine, cargo lights on in reverse, however when I tied the new mirrors LED's to the cargo fuse they will not illuminate in reverse. Also tried connecting to reverse light fuse and got nothing. Have you installed these mirrors and have the LED's working in reverse ? If so did you cut the solid yellow wire going back towards the truck harness?

That is what I have been waiting to test out. I have done the diode mod on the cargo lights. It works great. I received my mirrors Friday but one was broken by Fedex. Now I have to wait for the replacement to arrive and see how it works. Thanks superchargedSS for taking care of this.

Have you been able to install yours and does your reverse lights work with the cargo mod?
