2014/15+ HD PowerFold OEM Tow Mirrors (The Ones We've Been Waiting

Spoke with my parts guy again today. Just as the door harnesses are different so is the Dash Harness.

 

It appears there is a 15.5 year harness for the doors and also the dash...I'm wondering if this new harness has the provisions for the mirror accessories?

The only accessories that are outstanding appears to be the led cargo assist lights. I'm sure with a relay and/or wire pin, one can get that before they'd need to start swapping out the dash harness. That gets messy in my opinion.

Yes I wouldn't be interested in the dash harness either, but this may support the theory that all of the wires aren't in place.

 

Bottom line there is power for the marker lamps in the door (after all the Window/Door lock switches illuminate at night) so I'd say that would be your power source for those...

 

Really the only thing left is these damn cargo lights. Of course I'd want them to come on with the Bed Lamps as well when you hit the switch. I feel that maybe your most complicated part....

 

Overall 1 option left and I've talked with the dealer about programming at my next oil change (500 miles from it)

 

Option 2 is to then go in and get schematics for the door harness and see where else we can tap into.

I am interested in a complete solution. If someone can identify the parts I am willing to spend the money. I have already purchased the mirrors and drivers side door harness but your post may call into question whether there is another door harness for the 2015.5s that is different than the one I bought. Most likely there is a passenger harness as well. There maybe no programming involved, just wiring. I plan on taking my truck in Minday to the dealer and leaving it to se if they can sort it out. There is another owner going to do the same in another state.

Damn Fedex......I left work early to be home to sign for the delivery yesterday....waiting until 6pm, checked the tracking and it says they attempted to deliver at 245. Problem is that I was home at that time, and nobody knocked on the door, rang the doorbell, or left any kind of note. Not the first time this guy has done this......

Same here I miss fedex yesterday morning but caught him in town. Lucky I live in a small town. Had slight issue with one of the mirrors so I am glad I got the mirrors before the weekend so I could the issue resolve. I can say SuperchargedSS took care of me right away. Thank you again.

Maybe I will get them installed next week. My plans to get the mirrors hook up just like factory. I am going to hook up the amber lights for marker lights and the white led hook up to the cargo light switch. Since I am having to wait just a little longer I am going start testing some wire.

So I wonder if these mirrors light up as puddle lamps as well if hooked to the cargo switch? Ie. if you hook them up to the cargo light do they only fuction when that button is pressed(this being said from a guy who never uses the cargo light)

 

Bottom line I like everything about these mirrors except these cargo lights. Wondering if they are really worth all the trouble.

 

I know one thing is for sure you can definitely see a lot better out of them.

You can do the diode mod to hook the cargo lights to the reverse lights. I did that and the cargos activate at night when you unlock the truck or when you are in reverse.

That is what I have been waiting to test out. I have done the diode mod on the cargo lights. It works great. I received my mirrors Friday but one was broken by Fedex. Now I have to wait for the replacement to arrive and see how it works. Thanks superchargedSS for taking care of this.
