2015 Colorado and Canyon offer Segment-Leading Fuel Economy

EPA estimated 26 mpg highway for V-6 2wd models

DETROIT – The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon will offer segment-leading fuel economy for V-6 midsize pickups, based on EPA fuel economy estimates released today.

For V-6 pickups with automatic transmissions, which make up the majority of midsize truck sales,

Colorado and Canyon offer highway fuel economy 3 to 5 mpg better than competitors.

Colorado and Canyon will be available in dealerships nationwide in the fall of 2014. EPA fuel economy estimates for four-cylinder Colorado and Canyon will be finalized in the near future.

I bet he's lying. That's better than the EcoBoost or even their base V6 does.

So, with a 4x4 V6, were right on with the K2XX trucks. I never expected the 3.6 to impress.

GM better get this diesel out soon and launch with the 8 speed so they can break into the mid 30s if they want to even think about asking a premium for it.

Hate to say it but call me unimpressed with these numbers. GM will have to tred lightly and not go too hog wild on incentives for the fullsize line like they did with the previous model Colorado/Canyon or they will kill this line themselves never mind the competition.

Do a search even in this forum. The colorado is rated 17 /24mpg

Silverados are getting very close to that.

I'll probably get a silverado now the numbers are out..I had just hoped the colorado numbers were higher..

Do some research on the Ecoboost. It's Ford's way of screwing people. The motor cost 1K more and there's only one way on earth to get that mpg..never kick in the twin turbos. that's hard to do unless you drive like an old lady..When the turbos kick in..mpg gos far south..Most average 13 city..17 hwy

I thought the same thing when I saw the numbers. I bet the 4.3 would have been just as good on gas....and probably would have been more enjoyable to drive because it's actually designed to be a truck engine. I was hoping for 27-28 mpg highway with the V6 and close to 30 highway with the four banger.

Are you considering buying one? The diesel version will undoubtedly be the mpg king.

You need to remember these are EPA estimates. YMMV.

I owned a 2013 Equinox FWD with the 3.6 for one year. I easily beat both city and highway ratings. Which ironically has the same EPA rating as the C/C 3.6 4X4. Low to mid 20's around town and over 30 highway if I kept the speed down around 65. Not saying these numbers will be matched by the C/C but I'd bet they will be close for some.
