Katzkin leather

Recommended Posts

A couple of people wanted me to post pictures of my Katzkin leather seats after i mentioned it on another thread. The dealer sold me on Katzkin leather seats when I picked up the truck. They reupholster the seats with really good quality leather in any colour (or color if you south of the border :-p ). At $2500, they are half the price of moving up to the LTZ, and are heated. I can't remember the colour choices i made, but I'm pretty sure it was doeskin and Coffee.

I'm going to look at getting a dash kit or something to make the seats look less out of place, but I really like way they look right now. They are also very comfortable. They are perforated leather, and they do not seem to get too hot like other leather seats I've sat in.

My only complaint is that I usually have the rear seat folded, and these are too pretty to fold away!

Above all else, leather is the one thing my truck is missing that i might actually drop some substantial money on. $2500 is a lot, i know i've heard others on here quote less, but it might have been a non-heated option.

Just a suggestion. You may be able to look in a junk yard for a High Country. I think, not 100% sure, that there was/is an option for cocoa dune interior on those and it may come close to matching your new seats (or seat belts and dash). Looks great by the way.

looks good.

if you have the heated seat option lets see a pic of the buttons, also did you opt for their cooled seat option?

Is it just the lighting or did you swap/color the steering wheel? Agreed with others, Looks great, good color combo, but a bit out of place with the rest of interior colors. Maybe get some color matched 3m vinyl for the trim pieces (steering wheel, dash and door peices) and that might tie it in better, and be a cheap quick reversible option.

Nice interior! I may have to check the vendor out for replacements on another vehicle I have.

Are the back seats heated as well? That's a feature I liked on the F150 Platinum CC.

I did not have heated seats before, the button is mounted in the plastic on the front of the seats. Rear is not heated. Cooled was not offered to me, but i think it was and option (probably really expensive). It has been about as hot as it gets here for the last couple of weeks, and I don't think cooled seats are required. I did not install them myself, the dealer sent the truck somewhere. I did not replace the steering wheel, the lighting is just strange in the picture. My seats aren't that yellow.

$2500 seems like a lot, but this is Canada. We pay more because of the " currency exchange difference", which has remained about par for the last few years, "Import + customs fees" which is about 5%, the "logistics of Canada being a vast country" despite 80% of the population living within 60miles of the border, and because Canadians are just going to pay whatever, just because. The only legit reason i can see is the higher labour cost here, but it only took 6 hours to install....

you probably paid about a grand for install, we do get ripped off here in canada on all automotive products.

you can order the katzkins on ebay with no heat for about $600 shipped to canada, i havent been able to find ones with the heat option.

if i get them ill be installing them myself, starting with the rear seats....it will be next summer if at all. my brother in laws dad recovered my car seats years ago so i may ask him for a hand, im sure he has all the tools needed.
