Rigid Industries A-Series LED flush mounted under mirrors

Recommended Posts

I wanted some approach lighting/ perimeter lighting for my truck. I think it looks cool and serves a purpose. I've never seen this done and I'm really happy with the results. These are the low power A-series Cool white lights form Rigid industries

Not bad. Looks good. I would prefer the light to aim directly down though. Hard to tell in the pic.

Watch the video and you can see that the light distribution on the ground is pretty good.

The wiring was the worst part. There wasn't any wiring in the door panel that I could find that came on with the dome lighting . So I had to run the wiring into the truck. It wasn't my original plan to flush mount them and the A series lights aren't designed to be mounted this way but it looked terrible with them just stuck to the bottom of the mirrors. I marked the holes and cut it out with a dremel. Plastic epoxy from oreillys holds it all in. The bottom plastic on the mirror just pops off so it wasn't too bad cutting it. Mine come on when the dome light is on. They are really bright and would be great if you were off road or hunting at night. They look pretty classy too, my wife says it makes it look expensive!

I like the cool white color and I went with the low power. The picture and vid don't represent the color very well. It's a really pure white.

You did an amazing job, and it looks professionally done too. Once I get done with all the other upgrades on my Sierra, I'm gong to attempt this. If I mess it up, I'm heading your way for some help! lol.

The '14 SLT has lights where you installed yours, but they are not as bright and barely visible, like all the other lights on the truck. I haven't found a part number for the light either and I hope someone comes out with a pnp led bulb. If not, I'll be doing this mod for sure! Thanks for the quick reply!

So these are the 200 lumen A-Series?

Looks bright for only 200 lumens! I was considering doing this with the high powered 400 lumen A-Series but I may change my plans, hmmm decisions decisions.

Also do the cool white match the OEM Dome LEDs? I am trying to color match any lights I do to those. So far I have been 95% successful. With fog lights being the only non-match. .
