Your talking about a parking brake? Nobody outside of military, construction actually use the freaking thing! Which is why the majority of em don't work!

As usual I must be the odd ball. I use mine always. I set it before I put it in park. A habit I acquired when Park was a pin in the drum and a bump from the back when in park from another car would shear that pin leaving you disabled. They work if you use them all the time. I also set them tight enough to stop the thing when put in gear. 'three clicks' tight.

Same here.

Always applied when parked.

Living with uneven surfaces in the mountains I see a lot of people park and then the vehicle rolls until the parking pawl catches it.

Parking Brake

Simple.

Post it note on the steering wheel?

Yikes, that just sounds so dangerous, we all need reminders throughout the day, that can not be good for the truck.

Yea exactly. When I called the dealer and told them about it they acted all concerned and accommodating. They said it’s a serious safety issue, and that I should come in right away without an appointment. Too bad they couldn’t find anything wrong. It’s sort of a ghost electronic issue like GM has been known for over the years.

It just happened again the other day (promise I’m not crazy). But now I’m in the habit of taking the parking brake off anyway. I always use the parking brake as I believe it is safer than not. It’s just frustrating that I paid over 40k for a new truck and something simple like that doesn’t work right.

Take someone with you, know it won't happen every time, and have them shoot a video.

Or take off on purpose with it the PB engaged and shoot the video so you have proof of what is going happening.
