2wd lift question!

hey all, im prob in the wrong place asking tips in a 4wd forum but here goes :popcorn:

truck is '03 sierra 4.8 sle

current lift plan:

1.rcd 6"

2.perf acces 3" body lift

3.gap guards

1. mickey thompson classic ii 16X10 bolt pattern:6-5 1/2" backspacing: 3 5/8"

2. bfg mud's 35x12.5x16

1.regearing from 3.73 to ___

what do you guys think? any other suggestions or things i should do differently? thanks in advance. :thumb:

I lifted my 2wd 3" and put on 33s. A change from 3.73 to 4.10 kept me very close to the stock final drive ratio. I'd say that you would want to go with either 4.56 or 4.88 and this depends on how you use your truck (eg towing vs highway). As far as whether or not to lift a 2wd GO FOR IT. You might want to do the suspension lift and wait for the body lift and see if the tires wil fit without the body lift. It might save you a lot of work and $$$.

One last thing. Expect your fuel economy to go down significantly.

Did it take 9" of lift to get those 35's under your truck, which looks very nice by the way. I'm running 35's under mine with 4.5" of lift and plenty of room to spare. Is there that much difference between the newer body styles?

My truck is a 2WD. After reading your sig it looks like all your trucks are 4x4. That's were the difference comes in. It takes a '9 lift on a 2WD to equal a '6 lift on a 4x4. Notice how the stock 4x4's are taller than the stock 2WD? If I'm not mistake the 4x4's sit about 3+ inches taller.

Holy Crap!!!! That is 2wd, I thought something looked weird

when I had the same gap in my wheel wells with my 6inch lift.

You know I really don't mind the body showing. I was thinking about nerf bars & was even going to buy the skirt for the body lift but I like the way she looks.
