Foglights On With High Beams

Recommended Posts

So do you guys take the diodes out when you go to the dealer for service? Just wondering if I should pull it out before I go in for my free oil change. No reason for them to look under the dash but you never know. What does everyone do?

I haven't taken any of my diodes out, yet.

I didn't have a spare diode laying around that would fit, mine had some fat leads on it. So, I used an LED, now I have a soft green glow at my knees when my fogs and high beams are on.

That has to be my issue. I was pushing in, but maybe it just isn't setting correct. I'll try again this weekend.

Got it to work. Side note, there is a horn wire in that harness and if you tap it instead of fogs, your horn will honk when you put on your high beams!

Yes I know just don't need 100 for a 2 piece job lol

Radio Shack has them on sale, $0.78/ea. Bought mine, 2-pack for $4, had to drive 45 miles to nearest one, but was worth it. RS website is showing the 2, 3 and 4 packs for $0.78 as well.

How positive of a feel does your setup feel when you insert your diode? I did mine last night... pushed rather hard with needle nose pliers, and it didn't work at first when I tested it... pushed even harder until the diode "arms" bent... tested it, and it worked. Nothing ever did seem to click in past the connector or anything, so I don't necessarily have full confidence that it won't vibrate back out and stop working. Any tips?
