What did you do to your "other" car (aka musclecar) today

One of my dreams is to have a first gen trans am.

Mecum just auctioned off a '69 Trans Am for 70 grand.

Was that you, or are you still dreaming?

Saturday was a great day to get the Vette out! (unlike today.....) Over 60 degrees in late January is pretty nice around the KC area.

Just drove around for a couple hours. Stopped by our local cruise night spot and there were about 15 cars there. On an 80 degree day in mid-summer, there will be 800-900 cars there!

OH NO, I took the hot rod truck out for a ride yesterday it started cutting out and acting up. I know its been awhile since the distributor been looked at. Its under the supercharger, not fun. I guess I better do it now before it gets to hot. Or sell it and get something else that's easer to work on.

Nice! What's the loss on those C6's? ~10%?

Gah, my old car and its 20%(+?)

Not sure if I'm getting the bird out after all. 30% chance of rain for next few hours, have a 2 hour break, then jumps to 60+%...

Yeah, the drive train on these cars is highly efficient. This thing screams at 3200 pounds! The LS3 is a beast even without mods.

Raining all day here. Actually good, need rain!

I was going to take it out but decided to change oil first(it had been running convential oil when I bought it and I've put in half convential VR-1, half synthetic Penn platinum last time to clean it out.

Man, only a few hundred miles, but clean it did, forgot how nasty convential oil can leave an engine( and this engine only has a few thousand miles!). Now it has 5 quarts VR-1 synthetic(well, 4 syn and 1 conventional since still had a quart on hand), 3 quarts Penn plat. So all synthetic, but still three quarts of Penn platinum to keep it shiny inside. Put on a new oil plug crush ring. Since the old was shot. Honestly not sure if it needs one, the plug has a small plastic ring at the base of the threads.

And of course a new K&N oil filter.

Then it started raining.

You guys see this overhaulin? Gorgeous car when done

http://www.velocity.com/tv-shows/overhaulin/videos/dans-67-firebird-reborn-meet-mitra/

Ryan

Didn't see it, but if it's what I think it is(link won't open but I see words "67 firebird") the Poncho guys didn't like that episode, said they did stuff wrong on the car.

There is a lot of disdain in the classic car world for Chip Foose.

Edit: all I can find is a 1:30 video of him finishing a drawing, which has 68 doors

Oh, listen to the Carcast episode with the woman from the show, she talked about their first gen firebird. She talks about preferring cassic cars to stay classic, and then starts talking about all the modern stuff they put on it. The irony is strong with that one.
