What did you do to your "other" car (aka musclecar) today

Well, my go to place only carries Suntek Ultra now, amd the price difference is steep. They want $2300 for the entire front clip. So I called the xpel place, $1400 for ultimate. Suntek doesn't look THAT much better(I have both, so I know!).

So they are getting big birds coffin for a few days next week.  Still shocked at the $900 difference. Xpel forces dealers to train to a certain standard, so you would think it would be the piece stuff. It's slightly thicker so I think it can take a bigger hit.

How contaminated can a new car be?

Some of the spot in the picture was clayed AND nanoskinned MORE than once before the iron x.

Every black/purple spot is the iron x reacting.

Nearly all of it was unnoticeable. Think of rust, it's many times worse than what your eyes can see.

Done. Clayed all upwards facing panels(again), basically everything from the middle of doors up. Yellow isn't exactly a color that holds reflections, so hard to get a good shot, but this will do.

how long was it on the lot?  I lucked out with mine.  The surface was pretty smooth (I did use a clay mitt on it).  Mine was delivered and went straight inside.  Never sat outside.

Think I mentioned it a few pages back, Manufacturer tag says built August 2016. But it only had 200 miles so it likely was on the showroom for a while. Heck, my honda had 140 and it was only 4 weeks old when I bought it. Over 500 now. Letting it sit until the PPF next week since the paint is so clean now.

Finished with a ultimate quik wax spray down, since they have to strip everything off before applying PPF anyway, but that's in a week so not letting anything else get stuck on. Iron X three times, an entire liter bottle. The top of NS and clayed sooooo many times. But I know I have my method down because it still looks great.

I have seen it when I was frequenting dealers for work, they get a loaded new MY car in, put it on the showroom, and it sits for most or not all of the year, then when the next year shows up it gets clearance out. Best deal I have seen was that new 2015 Z/28 for 49k I mentioned years ago.(saw it early 2016). That dealer was nuts, have no idea how they still had it after all those 15s were selling so high over msrp for a while.

Oh and it's not always sitting outside, a lot can be raildust from the transport. I read one detailer had a nice(but common sense) quote,

"They all have it, you can just only tell on the light colors"

After today I think he is right. You could only see 75% of it with the stuff reacting to it.

And I think the dealer forgot to send the title. I called today and after looking into to for 10 minutes it was suddenly ready to mail out immediately, and she offered to overnight it. I declined, still 12 days left, and we pay tax here when registering.

Paid the 4.5% tax on it

This state is turning to crap. Republicans that spend like democrats. It's the worst of both worlds. Every time they raise taxes for "something", that "something" gets worse.

So is this SnakeEyeSS thread now?

I guess I'm the only one doing anything with their car? Maybe Ryan finally drove his! I have only made one post per day lately unless replying to someone.
