Level Kit Noob Here...

Recommended Posts

So the other day I was offered a leveling kit from one of my friend's dad. He has a 2014 GMC w/aluminum control arms. My 2012 has steel arms. The kit he gave me had no brand on the bag. They look like a Ready Lift piece? I think he said he bought them off ebay. They are bottom strut mounted and made of aluminum. Could they work in my truck? I don't see why not...but you never know. Any help appreciated.

EDIT: I may have found the kit I was given. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-GMC-SILVERADO-SIERRA-1500-1-LIFT-LEVELING-KIT-2007-2014-CH1-0B-/141335922691?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASilverado+1500&hash=item20e8470803&vxp=mtr

Anyone ever use one from this place? Summit Engineering?

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - a spacer is a spacer is a spacer is a spacer. The eBay lower strut spacer that I got for $25 is just as good as the Pro-Comp upper spacer that I paid $150 for. All you are paying for is a name when it comes to leveling spacers. Now when it comes to suspension kits, that's a different story.

100% with you. They seem to be good quality and have good hardware as well. Glad they aren't plastic. I guess my only concern was the whole aluminum vs. steel arm thing. I know some of the big brands have different p/n's but is there really a difference in the spacer?
