the first person to get an Edelbrock SC on a 6.2!

Recommended Posts

I almost hate to jump in here there has already been vids and time slips on this website showing a 14 6.2 CC 4x4 running 13.5 with a tune at sea level. Ive read a mag test that shows a 6.2 in mid 13s with 0to60 @ 5.3. 12s with a blower at sea level, easy. Bolt ons, some persons bound to bolt on some gas and get into the 12s or better.

I'm not making shit up buddy, I've been in blown 13's,

You say you're not making stuff up then confirm in the same sentence you have zero experience with these engines.

I realize the new DI 6.2 might have a little more, but really? THAT much more? I can't see it happening,

See, that's making stuff up. Nobody cares what you can or can't "see happening." We care about reality, not your biased made up stuff.

Maybe I am a little bit off on my first prediction, but you are too jon.

Again, making stuff up. We're talking about future events measuring engines with future modifications--you have no clue how my predictions will stack up with actual results once enough owners and shops have played with these engines enough to have a good idea of their potential with various mods.

Yup, he says he'll shut up if he sees a timeslip. Unfortunately I don't think we could be that lucky....

Just to stir the pot more, here is more internet information. Not sure if this is just a untouched magnacharger with a catback, or it has headers, more boost, etc. Either way, its gotta move.

Nice. 472 RWHP, no surprises there. No cam required. And assuming it’s their standard TVS1900 kit that’s without headers and other bolt ons as well.

I thought you were done with this thread?

Mine are based in reality given knowledge of these engines and actual results people have had so far and will likely turn out to be very accurate.

Yours are based on nothing and have already been proven to be laughably wrong even with the little info we have so far (just look above) and will only become more laughable as time goes on and more and more results come in.

Other than that they're pretty much the same....

Oh so you're the resident pro on DI injected engines now? Let me ask have you done any tuning with it urself? Any mods urself? If you have let's hear a lot about it?

These results you speak of...let's see?? You even say we have little info? You contradict what you say also.

That video has a huge Dynojet banner in the background LOL. Wonder what the baseline was?

Mine predictions are based off of racing trucks of this caliber on the street.

This thread is like old times. If only Chevyboy knew he's fighting a losing battle...

Lololol hey, if it wasn't for the village idiot how many good threads would be here?

Real trucks don't have spark plugs anyways [emoji48][emoji33][emoji110][emoji110][emoji110]

So, the new 6.2 is rated at 420hp. High side drive line loss is about 20% I believe. Putting approx 336hp on the pavement. Can 64hp be created with tuning, exhaust, intake?? Is that what the big argument is here?

Bone stock 5.3's on E85 are puting down numbers right in that area 330/355, on 10% they are around 310/330, that is factory stock. These transmissions are either very efficient or the engines are underrated. I haven't had the pleasure of Dyno-ing the 6.2 when tuning and it's hard for me to speculate numbers because the trans tunes alone feel like 50hp gain.

Very interested in hearing how this turns out, I'm curious how they overcome the knock retard these things are plagued with from factory with 6lbs of boost on top of it.

The shift points in this thing are for sure all over the map. Thought it was just me, but this truck seems to have a mind of its own on how, and when it wants to shift, and run. I swear some days it feels like it has 50 more/less HP than others, must be I got the female model.
