the first person to get an Edelbrock SC on a 6.2!

Looks like that motor makes quite a bit of power. It's a shame they couldn't lug the motor down to show how much low end its gained. I'd imagine its as equally impressive us the gains up top. By the looks of the AFR graph I'd say they didn't have the wideband hooked into the dyno at those times. 8:1 is very, very rich and impossible to hold that steady. She should shred some tires quite easily.

Yep I was quite impressed with the results considering the boost levels I think it's fair to say the intercooler does a fantastic job of keeping temps down.

I'm curious though with boost going that high at the end makes me wonder if a high flow cat might free up some power

Wow!! What's the difference between the two graphs? Final numbers 528 or the 485.. Hell I'd be happy with the 485 as that is a few ponies over 600 flywheel.. :driving:

485 is in 4th gear and the more accurate graph, my calculations came out at just over 585 hp at the flywheel just 15 shy of the stingray

Edit, I think the stingray was 625 and like I mentioned earlier it is the same pulley, on the same engine as the stingray so your calculations may well be right.

Compare with whipple who got 550 crank hp

They clam the most efficient inter cooling system and blower on the market however the hp and the boost levels compared to this graph doesn't support that claim in my opinion.

FWIW- GM High tech performance did a test where they slowed the Magnuson pump down and temperatures were better than when it moved quickly.

I think whipple used a 2600 cc is that true?

I think the new rotors whipple is using are 2.9. Could be wrong though

Do you happen to have a dyno showing boost levels too?

When the eforce first came out, all the vette guys went for it because the maggie required a aftermarket hood. They also saw this boost rise and attributed it to two things. One is those long 12" intake runners that aid in low end power become a restriction at higher rpm making the pressure in the manifold rise. Also when you have a bigger blower that have a large pulley on it you tend to get this kind of gradual boost rise. If a TVS 1900 was used the boost would come on sooner and not rise as much. The IAT's would also increase on the 1900 over the 2300 but a better intercooler could take care of that. I hope magnacharger comes out with their 1900 kit for the 6.2 soon so we can compare.

I do not, I asked but what I wrote was copied out of the email I requested it. But the numbers given sounded like it was from memory

Thank you for that explanation it makes sense. I wonder if the intercooler may be more the reason for the restriction. But it reads map post IC so you may be right. Hard to believe just a few inches can be that restrictive

We sell all major brand superchargers, including Edelbrock.

interesting, do you mind sharing your thoughts about the differences between them?

does any of the information i have shared here have any merit in your opinion?

Edelbrock has not been in the game as long as some of the others, but it doesn't mean that they don't have a good product. There are pros/cons with all the supercharger kits, some being more complete than others, some being more efficient, some having easier install, some being cheaper etc. Bottom line is, they are all going to give any engine a nice bump in HP/TQ.

Every company is going to have their "mine is better than XYZ competitor" quips, but really, they all are running the same Eaton or Lysholm product. So I say go with who has the best package for your needs, and make sure they have good customer service! Last thing you need is to be scrounging for a part if something goes south.

i would say that is a fairly unbiased answer! lol if we are comparing price i think Ebrock has the lowest cost and most DIY friendly kit.

based on the numbers I've seen it certainly seems to make enough power to play with the others.

i think i am frustrating the hell out of the team at ebrock.

one thing i have never had much of is patience! in fact i don't think i have a shred of it! lol

I'm trying to figure out what day i can get there to pick it up!

they have not given me the final word yet but they feel confident it will be done by the 25th for me to pick up.

the problem is i have a buddy who would really like to fly out and drive it back with me, but he has an obligation that day he can't get out of..

i could go solo or take my wife since saturday the 26th is our anniversary! lol i know what you guys would do,, she really doesn't care 1 way or the other. she is very low maintenance and easy going. we can celebrate it any day..

so i was thinking ebrock might be able to have someone meet me or just leave it in the parking lot at the airport with the keys locked inside.

i can really go any day i want (being self employed has advantages) but i would prefer to drive it home over the weekend.

the other option is pick it up the following monday in which case my buddy would have to take 2 days off of work.

it doesn't sound like i will be getting any kind of definitive answer until monday as they plan to do a towing test with a 10k lbs trailer up some long steep grades and do some data logging. assuming that goes well they will be basically done with it.

i spoke to the engineer today before he left and he didn't like the idea of a saturday delivery but said he would look into it.

i know I'm being a pest, but well it's just how i am i guess...

the only advantage of waiting is the airfare is a little cheaper
