Avis in Vegas.. I had reserved a Mustang Convertable (so I didn't get stuck with a Beetle or 200 or something ) and they upgraded me for $30. with the extra insurance I took because of what it was and the full tank of fuel it was $274 out the door Unlimited Mileage.

Shoot that'd be well worth $274 for just a day.

Until you realize two days is a monthly payment.

I think that is what this guy did, lol

$70 is an just shy of fully loaded on a coupe...and in a few months will probably be the OTD price on a 2014 fully loaded coupe.

One of those "whoops I can't afford it" moments I guess.

I thought so...I rented right from the hotel to avoid the hassle and $20 taxi ride to the airport rental counter. So the prices were higher to begin with... a Hyundai Accent (cheapest car they had) would have been $60 for the day plus $35 for the fuel plus $25 for the insurance and the taxes so the cheapest I could have rented the car for the day would have been $140ish the mustang would have been $240 so why not...

This was my first TRUE vacation with my wife in 5 years... the 500 mile road trip was to see the town I was born in so I figured might as well ride in style especially for a little over $100 more than the econobox.... and the CL guy is nuts the 14 Stingray bases at 58 and his car as well as my rental isn't really optioned out.....

I wasn't knocking you, I was just saying in general. I like to splurge occasionally on vacation. That's the whole point, to enjoy yourself!
