Post your 2014+ wheel/tire set-up

Hmm. Are you going to adjust them? I do think the ride was a little better at their shipped height of 2". I'll have to look, I might have 4 threads instead of 5.

I'm only 2wd so I'm thinking of doing a 3" lift spindle and then backing the kings all the way down and I'll have 5" of lift and I could fit a 35-36" tire

What lift do you have? That's the first set of new geolandars I've seen - looks good!

I have a 2.5" level and 1.5" body lift. Around 4" of lit total. And these are part of a review thing. I got sent these to give an honest review about them. So far I'm lovin every bit of them. I think they officially get released this month some time. I've had em about a month. Awesome tires so far Edited by country_09

I think I might go down to 285/65r18 tires so I don't have to trim.

The fact that the STT Pros run on the larger end of the 295/70r18 spectrum AND the 0 offset of the wheels is proving to be a bigger trim job than I planned and it a bit too close to the cab mount for comfort (I can't guarantee it won't rub during travel even after trimming).

Good call. Don't be fooled by these street queens on this forum. Most of these "barely rubs" overstuffed trucks will have some serious problems if they ever get off the pavement. You need 4" of lift to run 295/70s and depending on offset, you might still have some clearance issues.

As far as the rims, honestly, every single one looks the same to me. The only one who will know the difference is you. Black rims all look alike up close, and look EXACTLY alike from a distance.

Thanks man, appreciate the insight [emoji1360]

I'll be off the pavement every weekend and don't want to deal with rubbing issues.

Lol you don't pick rims based on looks, steel rims are by far the best for off road they are stronger and help against dirt and sand.

But they are ugly and don't come in 20inch

A inbound face rim will help with the center of gravity and help take weight of your axles, but has a much higher chance of bending the spokes.

A outbound face rim gives you a wider stance but leaves a higher chance of getting damaged/scuffs and also puts a lot of stress on your axles.

Rims also come with higher quality paint, higher quality metals, and higher weights resistant.

So just because they look a like doesn't mean they are the same at all.

I think it's cute that you call some of us "street Queen" I love my truck but in the world of off-roading a long wheelbase automatic vehicle is most often not your friend when your facing a hill.

I really think he's got a good point on people stuffing tires and saying "they fit with no rubbing, except in reverse out of my driveway. And they don't rub on gravel roads".

He's also obviously not talking about everyone. "Off-road" can mean something a bit different to everyone. It could span the spectrum from a flat dirt path to a smooth hayfield to a potholed FR road to desert racing or rock crawling.

Off-road doesn't have to be rock crawling and going up steep inclines with chances of roll over. I got the Kings and am upgrading tires primarily because I go down a lot of ill maintained forest service roads and what are almost jeep-only trails to get to fishing/hunting/hiking spots. And in New Mexico and southern CO, that equals a lot of large, rough rocks and rough trails in places that are low trafficked and no service. If I'm facing something that looks like it's got a even 25% chance of rolling my truck or really busting up my undercarriage or body, I'm probably going to go a different way or walk. I can probably get up a good chuck of it in a stock truck with careful tire placement, but it won't be a fun experience and I'll be constantly worried about blowing out a sidewall on the stock tires.

There's a difference between building up a truck to have some decent off-road capability vs building a vehicle with the main purpose to be an off-road beast of a machine. But there's also a gray, fuzzy line somewhere where it's actually off-road and you start benefitting from upgrades due to uneven ground and traction issues.

I was just Arguing the point that rims make a difference.

I personally don't agree with lift kits or tire size for example here are our

2011 lifted 7-9 inch give or take with 37s

And 2016 leveled with 33s

The measurements of the tires 37s hardly measure to 35shttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170703/b5c3a75c737d36b5f74a418eef47e934.jpg[/img9ccb2936c634539120a87011296a89ef.jpg

33s hardly hit 325ba2b3dae07876be72edd6ad668f9bec.jpg

Lowest point of the 2011a30336603729d3fd309cb69270f289b6.jpg

Lowest point of the 2016 96e2afbaf65f6481e9f63467ca771273.jpg

I do understand they aren't the same truck but just trying to show that lifts and big tires are over rated to spend thousands to really not give you much more clearance. People think that a 7 inch lift gives you 7 inches of clearance but that's not the case.

Oh, for sure. Good points and illustration. The lift pushes your frame higher, but the clearance gained from the lowest point is only from your larger tires. A 7" lift may allow you to fit an extra inch or two of tire under there, and that gain in height from the increased tire radius (ground to hub/axle) is what gives you the actual increased clearance from your lowest point.

Of course, it depends on whether you're talking clearance in between your tires with your axle/diff or clearance in terms of high centering on your frame. Everyone thinks differently [emoji57]

Ya you're more then right. I just hate guys like him that try to put people down. I hate seeing the names street queen, pavement princess, mall crawler. I off road but I don't put people down that don't. I'm also not the best I still have to use my locking diffs.

Some people baby their things I think that's cool. I personally don't. I have beaten my jeep and hummer, but that stuff isn't for everyone.

The way you measured how tall your tires doesn't net true results because the weight of the vehicle shrinks the height. Ideally you should lift the tire off the ground for a true measurement otherwise the other way is to measure the radius from the center of the wheel to the top of the tire and double it.

Ya that's hunky dory, but like measuring your male appendage, you can bend the rules all you want but 3 inches is 3 inches. Right? 57c380a6abe2b90836ae2c82f670357c.png

Looks good! Where did you get your Z71 stickers?

I'm going to speak for him and say that those tails don't have covers....but that the factory tail light assemblies have been painted and cleared. Just my opinion, though...I can't say for sure.

I got my stickers from Ebay for about $12. If they arent GM parts you cannot tell. They looked identical to my old stickers. Love them!
