Post your 2014+ wheel/tire set-up

Recommended Posts

This truck looks perfect. All these Method Race setups are giving me second thoughts. I love Methods but I have a hard time justifying their price vs Pro Comps in a similar size. The Method 17x8.5 / 0 offset Mesh wheels weigh 27lbs and run about $800/set. The Pro Comp 17x9 / -6 offset 5045 series weigh 24lbs each and cost less than $500/set. Can anyone convince me that the Methods are worth that much extra money? Are they really of a noticeably better build quality than Pro Comp wheels?

Look for a sale and it's to take note Methods don't come with lugs. So you're looking at another 60$ or so from whatever decent price you find. I sold my stock tires and rims for 400$ one was curbed to hell and back so i like to think my methods were 432$ :D. That and it saved me nearly 300$ on a tire purchase so all in all they're already paying for themselves.

But yeah keep an eye out for sales. Couple of guys i PM'd on here asking about lugs had gotten theirs for 650$ at one time or another through some good sales. Don't shop at autoanything, regardless of their price they suck. If you order from them you'll likely be waiting a while too. I originally ordered from them for 705$ called them to verify they had them in stock. They said yes. Said they would ship out in the next couple of days. Received an email that friday saying for "unexplained reasons" they had to push the order back 3 weeks. Called 4wheelparts in memphis, TN they got em that monday and i went and picked them up.

All in all it's up to you in reality it's an aesthetic choice other than going smaller and saving some cash down the road on tire purchases. It's your truck if you like the methods i say go for em. I know i wouldn't go back. I go to work, leave work, and gawk at my truck every time i'm about to get in it lol

Keep an eye out for the 20% deal on Auto Anything. You can get the Methods for a hair over $600.

I like the center caps and middle section on methods way better.

I ordered my 18x9 method mesh rims from AutoAnything when they had 20% off and an extra 10 for methods for like $700. It was at my door undamaged a week later

Meh YMMV, my experience wasn't good. Wont do business with them again. If i call someone and they tell me a product is in stock and in house and will ship out friday, have already charged my card, and then tell me i'll have to wait 3 more weeks for something i've already paid for, well it's a red flag to me. That and if you look at recent reviews on business rating sites of auto anything that are actually descriptive there are a lot of the same instances.

Maybe for 600$ it might be worth that hassle for some. Not to me personally i'd pay the extra money to have them there. To be fair 4wheels matched their online sale price at 732$ for me but tax in TN killed that.

I'm disappointed that Method doesn't make any 10" wide wheel variants anymore. I had 20x10 MR301's on my last truck and noticed the other day Method dropped the 10" wides from thier line ups.

10 wides would look great. I wish they had more offsets to choose from as well.

For my taste 10" wide was perfect! Gave me all the rim in the world without that gay bro stance look.

285/65R18 Ridge Grapplers....finally, someone running them. Some true measurements on the tire, handling qualities and of course, more pics. I keep worrying that If I go with this size, I will wish I went a little bigger. Convince me otherwise!!

if you want something that doesn't rub and require no trimming with a 2 inch level. These are for you! I love them. They are super quiet and ride awesome. Only time I can feel them is if I'm going around 20 mph. I am extremely happy with them so far. I can get you measurements later, I'm not home right now and if you want specific pics left me know. c6117e967e549d9064e1343ede6cf780.jpg2a43b587bb0c0b770d09ed8a37e38c85.jpg

Thanks for pics....that a damn nice look for a leveled truck. You might have sold me on them. My buddy is running the 295/70r18 RGs on his Tundra and I have to look at that everyday in the parking lot.

I'd have to change rims and put a BL on it for the 295/70r18s...neither of which I really want to do. Probably just stay 285/65 with my 2.5 level.

I think you'll be happy. The tires ride awesome for what they are. They look sweet too
